    Solution Standardizations & Assets usage tracking

    Purpose of the Job

    In the continuity of existing internship, the Automation Engineer Apprentice is responsible to foster the standardization of the solutions for PLC and Robotics for Alstom train manufacturing processes ; in charge to achieve the development of the existing Automation Reference Library with the missing applications.

    The Standardization of Automation & Robotics solutions is the result of a technical and economical evaluation of the different alternatives, requiring to deeply assess the advantages/disadvantages of each potential technology for all the application domains (welding robot, automated tools, AGVs, etc..).

    Among the standards to be determined, a specific effort will be given to the Assets Usage Tracking system, a technical solution allowing to automatically record all the usage hours of all robots/PLC; currently this tracking is mostly manual.

    Each standard & solution need to documented and published among all the industrial and engineering population through Share Points/MES document database.

    Functionally reporting to the program manager of the Automation Program, he/she will ensure to coordinate the internal/external experts and manufacturing sites mandated to work out the above standardization objectives.

    Main Responsibility

    Closely working within a broad network (Industrial Ops & Performance) he/she will be in charge of :

    Solution Standardizations

  • Develop the PLC standards jointly with the experts (HMI, protocol, products etc..) Develop PLC standard training content ( troubleshooting, programs) Develop the documentation of new standards solution Organize and collect the Return of automation projects, then share the information over the internal database Maintain the reference of all the existing machines (function, purposes, location) Guide the sites to consult and use the Reference Library
  • Assets usage tracking

  • Regularly review the performances ( usage ) of the existing machines with sites representatives Develop jointly with Industrial IT, the best interface/solution to collect usage data ( PLC, Teep Track, IOT ..) Keep the assets inventory updated
  • Profile

  • Currently following Automation/Mechatronics/Robotics Engineering master's degree education, with an academic background on Siemens PLC programming (TIA Portal)
  • Looking for a 24/36 months apprenticeship.
  • Able to foster communications between multiple stakeholders (process expert, external engineers, industrial functions, finance...)
  • Able to work across sites/functions in a multi-cultural environment
  • Team spirit approach and good communication skills
  • English fluent
