Job Purpose

  • To develop and enhance credit risk monitoring and reporting framework, in compliance with French and European regulations, Group standards and the Bank's risk appetite (including policies, procedures, limits, controls, etc.);
  • To prepare high quality credit and financial analysis of counterparties in Europe (Individuals, Corporate and Financial institutions), supporting both the Private, Retail and Corporate Banking teams and the Bank's Board, leveraging Group resources;
  • To assess and report the credit risk inherent in new transactions, ensuring that all proposed transactions are compliant with credit related policies and procedures;
  • To analyze transactions relating to residential and commercial real estate lending and perform annual reviews;
  • To monitor exposure, performance of counterparties, assisting with the management of watchlist and impaired credits;
  • To contribute to provisioning process;
  • To perform control to ensure that operational risk relating to credit process (under risk responsibility) is properly covered;
  • To prepare and conduct Credit Risk Committee meetings;
  • To ensure the proper archiving of documents;
  • To provide input for internal Committee (Risk and Compliance Committee, Audit and Risk Committee);
  • To provide assistance of transversal risk project more specifically on credit related topics (ex: RCSA).

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Develop and enhance credit risk monitoring;
Recommend country limits, corporate and Banks / FI limits and exposures;
Work with the other members of the Risk department on all projects that fall within their responsibility;
Contribute to internal and external reporting relating to Credit Risk;
Other credit related tasks and research that may be assigned from time to time by the CRO.


Qualification & Experience

Qualifications:


  • Master's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Banking, Risk Management or equivalent.

Experience:


  • Minimum 2 years in credit risk management (with credit analysis experience within a credit department), if possible with a focus on France realestate lending, primarily with various European counterparties and industry sectors, encompassing good knowledge of corporate credit and secondarily, bank/financial institution experience.

Competencies
Seasoned risk manager with experience in range of industry sectors, and good experience in real estate.

  • Ability to adapt to working in a multicultural environment;
  • Highly efficient, team player, with good attention to detail, accuracy and eye for market research and following industry trends pertaining to bank's portfolio;
  • Ability to work proactively and autonomously to tight deadlines and to withstand occasionally high pressure demands;
  • Willingness to go the extra miles when necessary to support the team;
  • Ability to work efficiently within a small local organization within a larger international Group, ability to be adaptable within working environment, and to demonstrate entrepreneurial capacities;
  • Accuracy and high level of numeracy in relation to financial analysis, skilled at spreadsheets; financial modeling experience would be appreciated;
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate with people at all levels, including senior management.
  • A structured approach to credit analysis with strong ability to articulate credit judgment both verbally and in writing;

Skills

The job holder requires:


  • Credit skills and experience in ideally both the corporate and banks/FI areas. Some experience of analyzing structured or more complex transactions;
  • Financial / credit analysis skills (stress testing would be an advantage);
  • Credit risk management knowledge (other type of risk would be appreciated);
  • Fluent in English, good knowledge of French would be appreciated;
  • Good working knowledge of banking and securities market products;
  • Good awareness of market developments (including financial markets, industry sectors, macro political and economic issues);
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
