FORVIA has launched a new business MATERI'ACT to design, industrialize and produce cutting-edge sustainable materials for automotive-compliant processes and products.

This activity will build a competitive advantage to all FORVIA Group BGs (including Hella's), by providing privileged access to sustainable materials displaying competitive costs, outstanding sustainability (life cycle footprint and EU taxonomy alignment) and automotive-grade properties (product and process).

In addition this business will supply the full automotive industry (OEMs and Tiers-n) and other industries as much as possible.


This business is reporting to FIS (Faurecia Interiors System) and will be running out of Lyon, France

Description
(Purpose and Main Responsibilities):


The Costing, Program and R&D Controller is responsible for evaluating the economical viability of to be acquired programs or projects.

S.He builds the business plan (P&L and Cash-Flow) by collecting the datapoint information such as volumes, price, variable and fixed headcounts, manufacturing costs, capex/amortization, energy consumptions, DOH/DPO/DSO requirementsthat will ultimately fuel the long term strategy with concrete actions.

S.He supports the sales and product lines groups. S.He brainstorms to find alternative ways or options to secure the business when needed.

S.He participates to the month-end closing process to report on Program, R&D and SG&A month over month actuals and forecast P&L and cash monitoring vs.

budget and forecast preparation.


The main missions of the role, in full compliance with Code of Ethics and Code of Management, are to:


  • Support Business Acquisition:
  • Perform calculation requests to support prevalidation and/or preparation of RFQs
  • Validate technical and economical feasability or programs or projects
  • Analyse or define the industrial flow to convert it into a full mutiyears business plan (P&L and Cash Flow Statement)
  • Value variable and fixed production costs
  • Elaborate costing files and sensitivities analysis to proveout proper pricing
  • Support the elaboration of pricing files leveraging existing costing / business plan tools
  • Verify offers / purchase prices for Bought out Parts (BoP)
  • Challenge research and predevelopment costs and cash equations
  • Integrate asset investment, logistic and tooling economical equations
  • Track and value Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and integrate them in the initial business plan / costing files
  • Update regularly underlying assumptions as well as Risk and Opportunities to improve margins and cash equations
  • Help elaborate cost comparisons for Make or Buy decisions
  • Communicate and explain assumptions and results with various stakeholders: Sales & Programs, Product Lines, Purchasing, Finance and Strategy including Upper Management
  • Support program manager and sales department for preparing customer negotiations
  • Support purchasing department for preparing supplier negotiations
  • Foster & develop a strong network across the Globe to improve collaboration and communication
- **Allow month over month R&D controlling activities**:
  • Lead all SG&A and R&D forecasting & controlling processes (budget, periodic forecast, ) in P&L and cash
  • Maintain existing databases and reporting tools
  • Challenge SG&A and R&D budgets, program targets and costing in compliance with IC
  • Manage monthly reporting process ensuring reliability, consistency, transparency and delay compliance
  • Ensure reliability of hourly rates
  • Suggest to management action plans resulting from relevant analysis in order to achieve the operationnal targets (especially regarding costs, workload, )
  • Report out on them and associated achievements
  • Ensure financial awareness of engineering operational teams

Qualifications:


  • Business School or Engineering background with a Finance degree or Masters Degree in Finance
  • Minimum 5/10 years experience preferrably including a first controlling experience or big four background
  • Comprehensive understanding of Financial KPIs (IRR, NPV, ROIC, WCR ) and agility to go from P&L to Cash
  • Overseas Team Management experience is a plus
  • Ability to manage uncertainty and resist to stakeholder pressure
  • Willingness to shape one's scope of accountabilities
  • Good negotiation skills and arbitration abilities
  • Ability to invent and implement effective changes to improve performance
  • Demonstrated strong communication, analytical and synthesis skills
  • Fluent in 2 languages including english
