Customs & Trade Manager

To Lead nonstandard logistics operations (including non-finished goods) related to acquisition, merge, integration of new CMO resulting in the extension of new international logistics routes / network. Role will combine project and operation management supported by sub-Logistics department. Position will also aim to build and centralize expertise on Customs, Tax, Regulatory over the logistics scope.

Main responsibilities / job expectations

Strategy:


  • Advise on Logistics network solution strategy & optimization
  • Define strategy & provide governance for adherence to regulations
  • Build a strategy on samples management (API-Semi Finished-Finished product) with a strong collaboration with EMO & EAP team.
  • Integrate Customs/regulation in the Ipsen supply chain and at the enterprise level
  • Watch on regulation, changes and opportunities for new capabilities. Monitor industry evolution/trends towards establishing mid/long term Ipsen strategy

Operation:


  • Accountable for execution & delivery
  • Selection of customs broker and performance management
  • Serve as interface with Launch department.
  • Manage Customs broker (import / export clearance
  • Establish & monitor Customs Metrics (KPIs)
  • Track Customs issues & identify root causes
  • Monitor and execute process to secure and retain Powersof
  • Attorney for customs business.

Deliver Compliance:


  • Accountable for the coordination & delivery of customs compliance
  • Establish global Customs standards for compliance enablement and towards operational efficiency
  • Establish sustainable processes for customs management. Document & coordinate via procedure or guidance the non standard operation (API, semifinished flow)
  • Ensure continuous mandates monitoring (new, change) for compliance and fulfilment
  • Provide Customs Subject matter Expertise and guidance to internal and external stakeholders. Provide Training/Education plan and knowledge transfer to stakeholders
  • Identify IPSEN Network changes & projects affecting Logistics network (New Legal entity, M&A, Divestiture, new SKU launches )
  • Identify process areas requiring Process improvements

Project / Continuous improvement:

  • Run project to optimize current flow
  • Support savings and compliance improvement projects
  • Facilitate Change management across the network
  • Proactively identify and deploy value beyond compliance opportunities to bring a return on investment
  • Identify evolution of the market and technologies that can provide an added value to IPSEN.
  • Support the Supply chain digitalization effort for Customs

Knowledge, abilities & experience

Education / Certifications:

  • Master's degree graduate or postgraduate in Commercial Trade / Logistics

Experience:


  • At least 10 years' experience in Pharmaceutical Industry working in Supply Chain logistics & Commercial
  • Knowledge of Customs regulations, pharma logistics & Cold chain

Languages:

  • Fluent English. French is an advantage

  • Experience in managing teams and complex projects, as well as working in matrix settings
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to build strong personal networks, both within and outside Ipsen and use them to secure appropriate support and outcome for a project.
  • Challenges and questions ways of working to seek improved process and performance.
  • Proven ability to lead change and communicate difficult messages effectively.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to influence business.
