    The Capital Projects Team (CPT) is in charge of the development and execution of major investments projects, including Energy Transition projects, aiming to extend, enhance, revamp the industrial facilities owned and operated by the Group within the South West Europe (SWE) cluster countries, pertaining to the Large Industries Business Line.

    Directly reporting to the PM Team Leader, as an Industrial Project Manager, you will:

    • be part of an international team (CPT offices are in France, Italy and Spain)
    • work in direct interface with the CPT Project Engineers, the local Business Development, Operations and Maintenance teams, as well as the Group internal engineering office
    • actively take part in the definition phase of the project:
    • definition of the relevant technical solutions,
    • freezing of the project basis of design in compliance with the Group Industrial Management System (IMS)for all technical, quality and safety aspects,
    • ensuring integration of all matters into existing facilities (process/utilities connections, general arrangement vs location, noise, maintainability, operability, etc.),
    • establishing project final scope of work, risk assessment, budget and time schedule.
    • manage the execution phase of the projects:
    • managing the project budget and schedule, enforcing a sound "no change" policy
    • coordinating the engineering development to ensure technical compliance,
    • managing the different contractors (engineering, suppliers, external consultants & professionals, construction contractors, etc.),
    • launch, and then follow, the permitting procedure(s) with the local authorities, producing the required documentation when necessary
    • managing the different interfaces with internal and external stakeholders,
    • ensuring a safe execution of the construction activities in compliance with the Group and local regulations
    • managing the handover to the Operations team and project close-out
    • reporting to the Project Steering Committee.
    • assess the necessary resources (internal and external), and coordinate their activity.

    Profile and Competences

    • Minimum 5 years of pertinent experience in project engineering and management in an industrial setup
    • Construction experience is considered an asset
    • Good understanding of project management techniques and practices (Gate system, project framing, contract strategy, project planning using MS Project or Smartsheet, cost estimating, risk management etc.)
    • Knowledge of production processes of industrial gases is an asset
    • Technical competencies in engineering design, including risk analysis methods (HAZID, HAZOP) and in Air Liquide rules and norms
    • Knowledge in reliability analysis method (e.g. FMEA) is considered an asset
    • General knowledge about permitting processes for industrial projects (Environmental, construction etc.)
    • General knowledge of European norms and regulations applicable to industrial projects, including for site construction works and safety
    • Excellent interpersonal skills in a multicultural environment, able to engage and motivate others as one team
    • Analytical, rigorous, with the ability to adapt to changing constraints.
    • Good time management, able to prioritize the tasks
    • Fluency in English and French
    • Good knowledge of either Italian, Spanish or Portuguese is an asset
