The
EMO Supply Chain Director is a key member of the Global Supply Chain and External Manufacturing Organisation (EMO) team, reporting to the VP Global Supply Chain and dotted line VP External Manufacturing Organisation.

The role will be responsible for overseeing the supply of externally manufactured products from the procurement of raw materials to the delivery of finished goods.


In this role your primary focus will be:

Leadership and Team Management

  • Manage team of supply planner and packaging coordinators for externally manufactured products
  • Lead, manage and develop EMO Supply Chain team, ensuring that the team as a whole and as individuals have the necessary skills, knowledge, experience, motivation, and empowerment to perform their roles. Nurture talent and ensure back up and succession plans are in place
  • As a member EMO Leadership Team, provide input to the development and delivery of EMO strategy, organisational design, roadmap definition and performance management, beyond area of direct responsibility
  • Ensure a full permanent link with Global Supply Chain to raise all key risks and identify areas of improvement

EMO Supply Planning and Execution

  • Ensure Supply Planning is in balance with demand, proactively identify risks and opportunities to product supply and resolve or escalate issues as they arise.
  • Drive S&OP reviews with large portfolio of Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) and internal Supply Reviews as part of monthly Global S&OP process
  • Set Supply Planning rules with CMOs (Contract Manufacturing Organisation), in alignment with Global Supply Chain Operations and Relationship Directors
  • Guarantee timely sharing of forecasts and Purchase Orders with CMOs as per contractual obligations and in line with Ipsen's supply needs, after validation by the appropriate organizational level

EMO artwork and BOM Management

  • Ensure artworks are created/modified on time and in alignment with regulatory requirements and manufacturing constraints
  • Devise inventory ramp up/down plans which are reflective of regulatory implementation dates
  • Ownership of EMO BOMs (Bills of Materials) in SAP
  • BOMS are to properly reflect the components required for the next production by the CMOs, in a context of very frequent changes of artwork components
  • Prioritise artwork creations and changes balancing capacity of artwork agency and workload on packaging coordinators and in alignment with regulatory requirements and supply needs


To be considered for this role, you will be educated to degree level in Life Science or Business along with a recognised Supply Chain Management qualification.

10+ years Supply Chain experience within a global organisation. A Supply Chain or Operations background working with or in contract manufacturing would be a distinct advantage. Persuasive communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels. Proven track record building successful business relationships with external partners. Proficient use of SAP. Fluent English, French an advantage.
