Reporting to the Senior Manager of Filing Services, and as an integral part of Questel's Operations - Filing Services Team, this client-facing role is responsible for patent filings and formalities in complex countries working with complex clients.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Communicate with clients, outside counsel, and foreign agents
  • Effectively communicate with team members
  • Enter and confirm data in databases
  • Formalities/Country Specific document tracking
  • Intake of new foreign filing orders
  • Maintain work instructions
  • Order required translations of patent documents
  • Review and monitor multiple reports daily
  • Save and review documents to be foreign filed
  • Save and review documents that have been foreign filed
  • Send and manage filing instructions
  • Transfer cases to foreign agents for prosecution
  • Train internal team members as required
  • Work on special projects and other duties as assigned by management

The perfect match...
A first patent experience isrequired, or any combination of education, professional experience, and training provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • 1 to 3 years patent experience preferred
  • Indepth knowledge of foreign filing procedures
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and handle delays or interruptions while maintaining accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to learn rapidly and adapt to quickly changing situations
  • Ability to synthesize data for use in reporting and decisionmaking environments
  • Able to work independently with mínimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated initiative, persistence, ability to problem solve, and enthusiasm for learning
  • Detailoriented, organized, thorough, accurate, and able to work quickly and steadily in a focused manner
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Highly motivated and willing to take initiative and complete assignments
  • Willing to occasionally manage and deliver projects during onstandard hours
  • Fluent in English
  • Fluency in a second language, other than English, preferred but not required
