Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)


The British Embassy in Paris is looking for a Driver to support the delivery of UK priorities by providing excellent, safe, timely and proactive driving support.

Additionally the role will include general office and other driving support.


Roles and responsibilities:


  • Working in a busy environment, ensure key Embassy staff are driven to/from events, meetings and engagements in a safe and timely fashion.
  • Work closely with the Executive Assistants/teams to plan transport requirements.
  • Lead on planning and delivery of ministerial transport for key France Network and UKDEL OECD events and wider embassy events.
  • Lead on delivery of transport logistics for UK ministerial and senior officials.
  • Ensure embassy vehicles are always prepared, ready for use and have a high level of cleanliness and safety at all times.
  • Build network of key stakeholders in order to help the team effectively deliver high profile visits/events.
  • Support teams across UKDEL and the France Network on occasions when they need transport support for particularly complex, large, or highprofile events.
This role would also include elements of office and administration support to France Network teams.

The exact tasks will depend on team priorities but are likely to include elements of:

- office management
- resolving ad-hoc issues/problems that arise in the office
- support teams with administrative, technical, IT and security issues as required Essential qualifications, skills and experience

  • At least five years experience working as a professional driver;
- strong interpersonal skills;
- excellent communication skills;
- ability to interact with senior colleagues.

  • Absolute discretion and the ability to keep information seen or heard in confidence.
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint etc,
- experience of working for government/a diplomatic mission/international organisation and knowledge of protocol and handling of ministers etc.

  • Good knowledge of Paris and its road system
