This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong self-motivated proven leader to join our growing Industry Practices team as Head of the Technology Practice and E&O - International, reporting into the International Head of Industry Practices.


In this role you will have full autonomy and trust to create, build and own the strategy for a market leading client centric proposition tailored specifically for the evolving and exciting Technology sector which will be underpinned by in house specialist underwriters and risk engineers.


You will collaborate and support the regional teams in launching and delivering this new multiline proposition to different international markets and brokers whilst establishing your own International dedicated Underwriting team.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Own and develop the Everest International plans and underwriting strategy specific to the Technology Practice, whilst maintaining a focus on bottom line underwriting profit and delivery.
  • Extensive Technical knowledge sought on key lines of business including Tech E&O, Cyber, Casualty and Property.
  • Working within the authority granted, writing a profitable book of business per the Everest International Underwriting guidelines.
  • Expand and maintain existing broker relationships and other sources of distribution, and developing new relationships, where this is consistent with the objectives set in the Business Plan
  • Be Innovative with the product range to allow Everest to compete with the market leaders in the sector.
  • Quoting and leading the placements of Technology clients, and effectively managing any specific MGA clients
  • To refer as appropriate risks exceeding prescribed underwriting authority
  • Develop business through execution of new ideas in addition to utilising all the available Everest resources to grow, develop and maintain a profitable book of business.
  • Underwriting business from International markets, on a center of excellence basis, that is provided via the Financial Lines and Casualty Underwriters based around the globe whilst you build a dedicated team.
  • To liaise with the Claims Manager on claims related issues and participate in account and management reviews
  • To participate in the underwriting peer review process at the weekly and monthly underwriting meetings, as required
  • To assist with the completion and review of strategic and underwriting guidelines & pricing models
  • To contribute to the regular analysis and review of underwriting practices and procedures
  • To assist in the improvement of the management information systems, rating models, underwriting manuals, service standards, marketing materials, website and risk management and claims functions
  • Effectively communicate with management on all issues both within and outside the Practice as needed
  • Marketing Everest International through contributing to articles and representing Everest at conferences as speaker or panel member
  • Collaborate with Everest colleagues in the International office locations, as well as in the United States
  • To monitor and keep abreast of changes in underwriting, regulation and compliance
  • Work with the Head of Industry Practices to build, develop and mentor a team which can deliver strategic goals outlined either above or by executive management

Professional Experience:

  • 10 + years of underwriting in the UK, European or international insurance marketplaces
  • Indepth knowledge and experience of Underwriting multiline products
  • Knowledge of relevant international laws and regulations
