Studeo is a Sequoia backed EdTech start-up that intends to democratise elite education. Attracting the best

teaching talent, it is setting out to widen the reach of top-level education through the medium of a premium

online tutorial service.

Barriers to access in education are at an all-time high. A teacher shortage, particularly in math and science,

plagues schools around the world, and tight government budgets make it difficult to compete for talent. While

families with means can opt for private schools, move to neighbourhoods with the best state-run schools, or

pay for expensive elite tutoring, those are options 99% of the population simply can't afford. By combining top

instructors and proven learning methods in a digital platform, Studeo is making it possible for more students

to learn from the best.

numbers.

Your mission

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Full-stack developer, to strategically lead our Tech function and

education and develop a sophisticated and innovative EdTech solution.

You will play a vital role in helping us build the most effective EdTech platform globally.

You will play an active role in taking responsibility for the development of our backend systems, Artificial

Intelligence, mobile app, web apps, and platform, build new features and functionality, support our

production environment, and help us build a world-class engineering team.

You will have responsibility for building out and managing your own engineering team, inputting to the

strategic direction of the business, helping to set the technical direction of the business, product, and tech

stack, and supporting the wider business with whatever tools, software, or hardware required.

What we look for

We are looking for an experienced Full-stack developer with a passion for JavaScript to join our rapidly

understanding of the JavaScript language.

You should be comfortable working with both frontend and backend systems, and able to quickly learn new

frameworks and technologies. We are looking for someone who is passionate about coding, and excited to

What you will be doing

In collaboration with the CTO, you'll create the tech strategy & drive its implementation.
Directly manage & help build a growing team of engineers (performance reviews, goal setting).
Build /launch new product features (handson coding).
Implement scalable systems to support the platform in production for our growing user base.
Mentor/coach other engineers on best practices.
Put out all the other fires that come along with being an early leader on an engineering team.
Introduce technical innovation and new ideas to improve the product and business.
Build an AI model to create an adaptative user journey.

Your Qualification

5+ years' experience with Fullstack JavaScript , React, etc).
A software engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
Worked in an agile scrum or Kanban environment.
Experience with relational databases and message queues.
Experience with AWS infrastructure.
Experience with unit and feature testing.

Your Attributes
