The Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration is currently looking for arbitration interns for our Middle East Case Management Team from July lasting six months.

The Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration is currently looking for
arbitration interns for our Middle East Case Management Team from July lasting six months.


The role

Tasks include:

  • Read and draft documents related to arbitration cases in English
  • Legal research and read legal documents in English and one of the languages listed below
  • Preparation of conferences
  • Translation of legal documents
  • Ad hoc assignments as requested by the teams and the services of the Secretariat to which the intern may be assigned.

Requirements:


  • Preference will be given to students in international commercial law arbitration with strong academic credentials and prior work experience.
  • Fluent English is a requirement. Knowledge in Arabic would be a plus.

Important information:


  • Nationals from outside the European Union or Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Andorra, Monaco, or Switzerland should get an appropriate visa from the French consulate. Interns are also required to handle their own travel/accommodation arrangements for the duration of their stay. The ICC is not in a position to provide scholarships/fellowships.
  • The 6month internship programmes are fulltime and the average working week is 35 hours.
  • The intern will receive a monthly gratification of about EUR 700 gross + meal vouchers + partial compensation (70%) of public transport costs.

This should include:
- a short CV (one-page maximum focusing on the experience relevant to the Internship) and indicating your current studies (with expected graduation date)
- a cover letter (no model provided), describing in a detailed way which arbitration classes you followed and your first professional experience(s) in relation to arbitration.

  • Two referees' names with their respective contact details (if possible one academic referee and one professional referee who supervised you directly)
- an academic writing sample in English ( e.g. submitted paper during university studies)
