Job Description:


Under the supervision of the medical affairs manager, as medical science liaison, your mission will be to support key medical affairs activities, working closely with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) as well as internal colleagues e.g., Sales & Marketing, Clinical Development and other Medical Affairs functions such as Medical Information.

You also make a solid contribution to support field based medical activities for KOLs.

More concretely, your Key activities will be:

  • Maximize physician awareness of Santen by providing medical expertise; collect scientific and medical feedback from our customers
  • Attend local, national and international congresses to meet with opinion leaders, observe podium presentations and maintain in depth understanding of scientific and therapeutic advances
  • Present data on existing products and new launches to healthcare professionals including physicians, hospital practitioners, formulary committees, pharmacists upon request, such as in Hospital Meetings. Present relevant data to Santen internal colleagues; for example during Santen conventions.
  • Help to develop scientific educational materials, participate in the development of customer training/education programs, and training Santen internal colleagues
  • Support local sites involved in R&D or Medical Affairs Santen studies if requested
  • Support development of clinical study publications in collaboration with KOLs/physicians and internal publications teams
  • Facilitate identification and presentation of research opportunities for consideration in support of our products
  • Assist in implementation of protocol development and administration for proposals to be supported (ISTs and Santen local studies)
  • Networking with patient associations and identification of potential collaboration with Santen
  • Support market access activities as requested
  • Provision for support of pharmacovigilance activities and medical information

Qualifications:


Education:

  • University Degree in Life Science (MD, pharmacist, biologist)
  • English advanced

Experience:

  • At least 1 year industry experience as a

Medical Science Liaison:
starting profiles with 1st MSL experience might be considered case by case depending on motivation, skills, and background

  • Experience in ophthalmology is a plus

Competencies:

  • Ability to learn and effectively convey clinical, scientific and medical information
  • Effective, presentation, written and verbal communication skills, excellent teaching skills and business acumen
  • Ability to respond to scientific and medical inquiries with the most uptodate, accurate and relevant information
  • Demonstrate an open, supportive, teamoriented style with the ability to influence key audience both inside and outside the company
  • Capability to work independently, creatively and innovatively is expected
  • Ability to travel (Up to 70% national travels. EU and International travels punctual on request)
