- Responsible for effectively providing services to support the installation, start-up, maintenance, and operation of automation control systems & advanced manufacturing software applications, drive systems, manufacturing systems, industrial networks and the individual products which comprise these systems.
- Provides customer support through the performance of installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
- The operational implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Projects (upgrades, renovations and startup of new drives).
- Manage Industrial cleaning in close collaboration with subcontractors.
- Consultation regarding the application of products, technologies, manufacturing processes and industry-specific applications
- Project and site management support including management of project activities such as scheduling, budgeting and human resources to ensure that the project meets the customers and Rockwell's expectations.
- Identification and correction of hardware failures, firmware problems and programming deficiencies, as well as the implementation of hardware/firmware updates and upgrades.
- Instruction/training of customers on proper use, operation and maintenance of Rockwell Products.
- Development, implementation and execution of predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
- Participate in a standby rotation, and therefore a flexible attitude towards out of hours and weekend working is essential.
- Travel to customer sites from the service engineer's field office location or home office will also be required.
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (e.g. Electromechanics, Automation, Electronics, etc.).
- Experience with site support, controls engineering or automation platforms
- A broad technical interest (e.g. Automation, Drive Technologies, Motion Control).
- Knowledge of Automation software portfolio
- Knowledge of drive techniques and low & medium voltage.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills, the ambition and ability to work independently, have strong communication skills, and excellent conflict resolution skills.
- Required languages: French and English.
- Valid driver's license
- Experience in a position of Field Service Engineer or in a technical-commercial environment
- PLC software development skills
