Alstom recruits a Hydrogen RAMS Engineer or Hydrogen System Engineer interested by RAMS domain for its Train/ Railway Rolling Stock division located in Paris Saint-Ouen


Your Mission:


  • Participate in engineering studies on the Hydrogen subsystem to reach the required reliability and safety train performances.
  • Lead the technical decisions taken in the hydrogen field with respect to reliability and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate the various designers working on the integration of hydrogen solutions on our trains.

Your Responsibilities:


  • Intervene as a Hydrogen Expert or Hydrogen RAMS Engineer on projects & tenders on the Hydrogen subsubsystem.
  • Contribute to working groups, collaborative R&D projects and work with partners.
  • Support the design of technical solutions that meet the expected reliability and safety performances of Hydrogen system.
  • Analyze the Hydrogen system in a dysfunctional approach.
  • Identify the hazards and carry out the technical risk analysis associated with hydrogen.
  • Ensure the production of deliverables for the integration of the Hydrogen system in the train in accordance with good practices related to hydrogen field (HAZOP study, Hazard Log, technical and functional specifications through DOORS tool )
  • Contribute to the Technical Purchasing Specifications during contractual commitments phase (clause by clause), including design reviews with suppliers.
  • Ensure the consistency between the Safety analysis done by the suppliers and the ones at train level (focusing on safety exported constraints management)
  • Ensure technology watch in the field of hydrogen.

Your profile:


  • Advance engineering degree
  • First experience in RAMS Hydrogen analyses.
  • If you have no RAMS experience but a good technical expertise in hydrogenrelated industrial projects (3 years or more) and a great motivation to join this discipline (you have a mindset keen on analyzing systems from a dysfunctional perspective) then Alstom is able to train you to RAMS.
  • Expertise in thermochemical processes, and possibly in the hydrogen value chain: production, transport, storage, uses, etc.
  • Knowledge on Hazardous Area classification
  • Communication skills
  • Fluent English
