About the role


Join Catawiki as a Key Account Manager / Business Developer and take the lead in driving our art markets in France.

We're on the lookout for a dynamic and results-driven sales representative with a passion for both sales and art, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills.

The mission is to drive profitable revenue developing and maintaining a portfolio of French high-value sellers.

You are also in charge of prospecting in France to onboard contemporary artists and art galleries and grow their revenue online.

You work closely with Catawiki experts in Old Masters / Modern Art, and Post-War / Contemporary Art to source lots in auction.

The Key Account Manager reports to the Sales Lead and Sales Director.


This role will preferably be based in Paris to liaise with our main sellers and prospect, and work hybrid from the Paris office.

Art Sales Team

As members of the Art Team, we play a pivotal role in shaping Catawiki's success.

Each Account Manager takes ownership of their designated territory, and makes sure to lead the strategy and success of their assigned sellers.

We're all passionate about the art industry and working closely with artists and gallery owners.

The Art Sales Team comprises six dynamic Key Account Managers / Business Developers strategically stationed across Europe. Besides the immediate team, we work in sync with the in-house art experts.

What you'll do


Key Account Management Responsibilities:


  • Formulate medium and longterm strategic growth plans for assigned sellers in France, aligning them with the global Art strategy.
  • Guide and challenge existing sellers to meet key performance indicators (KPIs), such as reserve price optimization and adherence to quality guidelines.
  • Collaborate proactively with Catawiki's Art experts to drive profitable growth, actively sourcing lots for auctions and organising singleseller auctions.
  • Conduct regular business reviews, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of commercial processes and key performance indicators, translating insights into actionable data and strategies.

Business Development Responsibilities:


  • Establish and foster robust relationships with new sellers, ensuring a seamless pre and postsales experience with a specific focus on effective onboarding and profitable revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with experts to swiftly grasp the essential characteristics of different categories, including quality guidelines, leveraging this knowledge in interactions with new sellers.
What you'll bring

  • Demonstrated sales mindset with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Proven success as an active and adept networker, proficient in establishing and nurturing relationships with art galleries, art dealers, and artists.
  • Strong proficiency in datadriven negotiation skills.
  • Highly autonomous and organised, capable of managing tasks independently.
  • Genuine passion for the art industry.
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English.
  • Master's/Bachelor's degree with relevant sales experience.
  • Proficient in utilising Google tools such as Sheets, Slides and Docs, showcasing your proficiency in datadriven approach.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, particularly HubSpot, is a valuable asset.
