Contexte et atouts du poste:

This project is related to the ANR ACTIVIS.

The objective of the ANR ACTIVIS project can be summarized by:

  • Patient monitoring and artificial intelligence analysis to track people from videos
The ACTIVIS project is an ANR project started in January 2020 and will end in 2024.

This project is based on an objective quantification of the atypical behaviors on which the diagnosis of autism is based, with medical (diagnostic assistance and evaluation of therapeutic programs) and computer-scientific (by allowing a more objective description of atypical behaviors in autism) objectives.

This quantification requires video analysis of the behavior of people with autism.

In particular, we propose to explore the issues related to the study of ocular movement, gestures, and posture to characterize the behavior of a child with autism.

The partners are Aix-Marseille Université - LIS, Hôpitaux Pédiatriques Nice CHU-Lenval - CoBTeK, Nívely and Inria.

Mission confiée:

Assignments:

With the help of Stars team and F. Bremond, the recruited person will develop new algorithms.

Key non-verbal cues, such as gaze behaviors including eye contact, and gestures like pointing, are crucial for diagnosing autism spectrum disorder (ASD) during the ADOS assessment.

The objective of this Research Engineer position is to develop and refine models for analyzing the posture and movements of children in recorded videos, with a special emphasis on pose estimation.

These models will utilize state-of-the-art neural network architectures previously developed at Idiap for similar research topics.

We aim to leverage the data annotated within the framework of the ANR ACTIVIS project along with publicly available datasets to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of pose estimation in understanding ASD-related behaviors.

Collaboration:

The recruited person will be in connection with the
Nice Hospital.

Principales activités:

  • Analyze the requirements of partners and endusers.
  • Study the limitations of existing solutions.
