  • In the wake of its new 2021 equity story, Nexans announced it will reengineer its model to become by 2024 a "pure player" on electrification, by focusing on electricity generation and transmission, distribution and uses, thus creating a global world leading company in this field.   • In this context, Nexans has engaged in rotating its business portfolio towards electrification through targeted and selective organic growth and through both disposal and acquisition of assets, in order for the group to operate at its full potential.
The strategy and Corporate finance teams are in charge of this transformation and cover the process end to end:
strategy definition, portfolio optimization, M&A process (target screening, qualification, due diligence and deal execution, post-merger integration), Financial Modelling.
Nexans is looking for an intern to grow our talent pool and reinforce the strategy and Corporate functions

This role will involve working in close collaboration to the Strategy, M&A and Corporate Finance teams in order to:

  • Build up research, analyses & associated syntheses at different stages of the group strategy definition or M&A processes, covering a broad range of topics such as:
  • Growth strategy
  • Industrial strategy definition
  • Business units turnaround and optimization
  • Market analysis
  • M&A target screening, company analysis, business plan & synergies calculation
  • Be involved along with project management in the definition of the group strategy and its communication:
  • Internally: C-level syntheses and action plan follow up material to support decision making
  • Externally: support in market presentations (e.g. Capital Market Day, Investor Relations, Universal Registration Document_)_
  • Support in building and maintaining comprehensive financial models to help Management monitoring Group financial performance and engaging with external stakeholders (investors, research analysts, rating agencies, etc.)

We are looking for young talented people:

  • End-of-course internship
  • Proven strategy and finance skills, as well as mathematical acumen
  • A first experience in strategy consulting or within a group strategy function, investment bank, audit / transaction services is a plus
  • Fluent English oral and writing skills
  • Motivated, selfdriven, interested in learning new concepts and ideas
  • Willing to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Problem solver, good ability to analyze issues, break problems down in a structured way, and draw insights
  • Impact oriented, has selfdrive to identify key issues/root causes and develop solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with strong communication skills: able to influence and convince her/his audience
  • Good written and oral communication; can easily convey messages in a concise way
  • Excellent synthesis and presentation skills
  • Pack Office (PowerPoint, Excel) proficiency
  • Persuasive and decisive
  • Energetic, tenacious
  • Collaborative
