  • Manage and optimize portfolio of selected global alliances leading or supporting, as appropriate, the development of collaborative capabilities for Ipsen including but not limited to alliance processes, governance procedures, alliance analysis frameworks, metrics, reporting, organizational training and external promotion of alliance practices to manage more proactively and strategically alliance relationships
  • Responsible for the overall execution of alliance under direction and guidance of SVP, VP Head of Commercial Strategic Alliances and act as an intermediary between the partners
  • Relationship management to ensure/enable proactive identification and resolution/mitigation of issues at appropriate level of partnership management (i.e. joint committees) in effective and equitable manner, avoiding unnecessary escalation
  • Responsible for identifying ways to constantly improve, optimize the alliance and initiate negotiations that could bring further value to Ipsen
  • Ensure partnership strategy and operations are aligned with Ipsen's overall corporate strategy as partnered asset(s) and partnership evolve over time/development
  • Work towards establishing Ipsen as partnerofchoice through a solutionbased and relationshipfocused alliance management aimed at achieving mutually beneficial outcomes

Main responsibilities

  • Strategic alliance budget, performance monitoring and planning including:
(a) Monitoring partners' performance/operations (on sales and costs, development progress) in coordination with business lead and Asset leads (R&D or Commercial - depending on stage of asset under alliance)

(b) Planning/Monitoring Ipsen's contractual obligations (financial and others) including but not limited milestones, royalties, option trigger/exercise

  • Participate in latestage evaluation of Business Development opportunities with an alliance component to prepare for alliance implementation by providing contractual input and preparing for alliance startup
  • Assess management risk posed by potential partner and alliance; advises on governance structure, alignment of decision rights with resource contributions and other elements of the agreement that impact operations
  • Ensure a smooth transition from diligence to alliance teams post contract signature by leading the transition and implementing the alliance launch process i.e. resourcing teams and leading kickoff/ alliance launch meetings and ensuring a successful start to the collaboration
  • Drive the goals of the collaboration and manage the longterm relationships between Ipsen and their partners through all phases of the alliance lifecycle
  • Ensure execution of contract and that contractual obligations are met
  • Proactively manage the alliances, act as the keyinterface with respect to the management of the legal and contractual framework established for the alliances
  • Ensure decisions are made, communication flows and priorities within the organization via the relevant global Franchise/BU are aligned
  • Lead in resolving businessrelated conflicts and in issues requiring consensus; focus on shortening the time to issue resolution with the partners
  • If needed, escalate to management according to the agreed escalation process in a timely manner
  • Ensure proper governance of the alliance by organizing and coordinating the joint steering committees, facilitate the meetings and followup and drive completion of any decisions, actions and issues
  • Represent the Strategic Alliance Management Department within relevant global Franchise/BU/ Asset team and ensure harmonious collaboration
  • Lead and manage internal cross functional teams in collaboration with Development, Manufacturing and Commercial leads to ensure progression of Ipsen activities and internal alignment to support the partnership
  • Ensure all functions within the organisation understand their obligations and responsibilities under the contract, including working with legal to prepare briefing documents as necessary
  • Track, communicate and manage key milestones to ensure compliance, using appropriate tracker.
  • Perform regular checkups of the alliance using alliance relationship audit tools and previously defined metrics
  • Identify change and make adjustments and/or recommendations to senior management to enhance the alliance to the benefit of both partners as necessary
  • Monitor whether the contract still reflects the optimal collaboration structure in alignment with the keystakeholders recommend amendment to the Alliance contract as necessary, in close collaboration with Legal and Business Development
  • Lead contract renegotiations and amendments
  • In the event of decision to terminate alliance, lead and/or work with the negotiation team including Legal and others as necessary to establish termination plan, method, and timeframe
  • Support and participate in Alliance Management Center of Excellence activit
