Job description:

To support our expansion across Europe, we are seeking an experienced VP of People to join our HR team.


In this role, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, serving as a crucial link to our People team.

Drawing upon your robust decision-making abilities and extensive expertise in talent management and organizational design within the technology sector, you will facilitate and nurture our team's rapid growth.

Swan has experienced significant growth, particularly over the past two years.

While we have achieved notable milestones, such as surpassing 200 employees, securing a recent Series B funding round, and establishing a European presence, we recognize the importance of establishing a dedicated team to support our ongoing development and expansion.


Your role will be instrumental in structuring our company and implementing the necessary internal processes to enhance Swan's performance as we continue to scale.


Main tasks:


  • Lead and develop the existing People team, including HR Business Partners, HR Operations, and Talent Acquisition Managers, to ensure alignment with company objectives and optimize overall performance.
  • Develop and implement effective people strategies and roadmap that support business goals and drive growth.
  • Oversee the structuring and organization of the company, including developing and implementing organizational charts, job descriptions, and career paths.
  • Design and implement competitive, fair, and valuesaligned compensation and benefits programs across different European countries.
  • Create training and development programs that support employee growth, skills development, and career progression.
  • Develop and execute effective talent acquisition strategies to attract top talent and foster a diverse and inclusive workforce.
  • Ensure seamless HR operations, including payroll, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations.
  • Foster and uphold a positive and inclusive company culture that embodies our values and supports employee growth and wellbeing, in collaboration with the different teams.

Your team:


As a direct report to our COO, you will lead a team of ten individuals, including HR Business Partners, HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, and Workplace & Employee Experience talents.

Our People team serves as the backbone of Swan, ensuring seamless operations to support our growth and scalability.


Preferred experience:


You're a great match if:


  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, including 3 years in leadership roles managing diverse HR teams (HRBP, HR Ops, Talent Acquisition...).
  • Strong leadership & team management skills
  • Proven success in building and executing strategies based on your deep knowledge of operations metrics and analytics
  • You are a natural leader that has the gravitas to influence on behalf of and represent your team to other senior leaders.
  • You are both a strategic thinker and a 'doer' and are not afraid to become very handson if required
  • Strong analytical skills, you have an eye for detail
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to communicate with clarity, humility, and precision
  • Flexibility with changing requirements in an evolving and fastpaced environment
