We are looking for a Cost Accounting team member for France, reporting to the Regional Accounting Manager based in Austria (as the other cost accounting team members in France). The position holder will be based in Arnage (close to Le Mans). This position is not only about cost accounting and dealing with numbers but beyond, in terms of understanding contracts and accounting with a certain complexity. In combination with backup planning it offers diverse activities.

Requirements:

• Revenue, Cost, Inventory accounting in SAP and analytics for one legal entity/two reporting units (our Seal Quick Response Centers):1- Perform monthly and quarterly US GAAP closes (the statutory close is performed annually and by a different team)2- Analyze inventory movements, including Goods in Transit and Goods Received Not Invoiced, as input for Cost of Sales for sales transactions and revenue recognition, including cost accruals3- Validate actual results against the forecast with the Finance Business Partner 4- Prepare documentation, which is the basis for journal entries to be prepared, and reconcile accounts
• Bookings (order intake) & Backlog reporting for most French reporting units: validate bookings on completeness and compliance with corporate policy
• Agent commission administration for the largest reporting unit
• Backup in emergency cases for for two reporting units (one in Oracle and the other in SAP)
• Submit all tasks in the periodic (monthly or quarterly) checklist to be prepared complete and timely to the reviewer in a system (Blackline)
• Comply with all corporate and local accounting policies, and ensure that all financial data is accurate, complete, and submitted in accordance with Flowserve's reporting calendar

Requirements:

• A bachelors degree in a related field
• Have the capability to speak and write in English (every day) and French
• Have had at least 2 years of work experience as an accountant
• Excel skills to ensure (s)he can edit large download files by filtering, rearranging data, running pivots, etc.
• Good communication skills to ensure collaboration with other departments, including Operations and the Finance Business Partners in France, other accounting team members in the "accounting region", and the Shared Service Center in Hungary
• Be disciplined, well organized, and deliver accurate work and reports
• Be a logical and structured person able to reflect and think through problems or challenges (although help and guidance will be available – "re-inventing the wheel" is not desired, but continuous improvement is always "possible")
• Like working with a lot of detail and many numbers
• Be able to read and understand contracts and terms and conditions and their meaning (after having been trained) (be a little more than a pure accountant)
• Be willing to learn (a lot) and be flexible (your performance and success will be rewarded in the long run with career opportunities)
• Accept our corporate procedures and work in our systems and with our tools as expected and meet tight deadlines
