As a construction management-as-agent contractor, MOMENTUM is managing the construction and assembly of the first full-scale test reactor to include a balance of the plant and the Tokamak itself.

Job description


Jacobs is recruiting for an established
Commissioning Technician, with at least 7 years of experience, to work on the ITER Project near Aix-en-Provence, France.


He/She will be responsible for:

  • Able to conduct electrical commissioning activities
  • Experience with using continuity and resistance testing devices and multimeters
  • Proactively deliver and whenever possible exceed the agreed quality, environment health and safety objectives of the organization
  • Ensure HSE compliance with French laws and regulations. Liaison project team and subcontractors to ensure safe systems of work are implemented
  • Directly reporting to the PTW manager and support of PTW operations. This is likely to require early shift working as part of the role on a continual basis
  • Continuous monitoring and carry out safety audits and inspection at the project sites including HSE systems and policy. Provide recommendations and monitor effectiveness of actions
  • Raising noncompliance reporting (NCR). Review NCR generated by the QHSE engineer and take necessary actions issuance and preparation of job hazard analysis
  • Acts as a permit to work issuer and approver (when required)
  • Ensures through daily surveillance that the site is always in an optimum safe and operational state and teams under the PTW scheme are adhering to all principles and controls applied in permit
  • Conducting field inspection to verify the detail and effectiveness of the permit to work

Please note the job offer would be based on a local French contract - this would not be an expatriate assignment.

Here's What You'll Need:


Essential skills:


  • French electrical certification mandatory (H0/B0)
  • Work at heights authorization
  • Leading and embedding a safety culture across the construction teams
  • Managing processes within functional area in a compliant manner
  • Knowledge of the site safety procedures in construction, test and commissioning
  • Electrical and I&C commissioning experiences

General skills:


  • Fluent in English (CMA/IO interfaces) and preferred French (works contractors' interfaces)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with creative solution and problemsolving skills
  • Very organized and structured
