À propos de Abdullah AL ABIAD:
Assistant professor and researcher in physics with expertise in nanophotonics and optical device design. Experienced in nano-optical simulations, experimental characterization, and teaching undergraduate and graduate physics courses. Seeking an Assistant Professor role to advance research, mentor students, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
Expérience
I have developed a solid academic and research profile through complementary experiences as a Postdoctoral Researcher and a Temporary Assistant Professor (ATER). My work spans nanophotonics, optical device design, numerical modeling (Fortran 90, Matlab, Python), and experimental validation of photonic structures. As an ATER at Sorbonne Paris Nord, I taught a wide range of undergraduate and graduate physics courses and conducted research in magneto-plasmonic interactions. My postdoctoral work at CNRS focuses on non-adiabatic control of micro-photonic systems and nanofabrication-assisted validation. This combination of research expertise, teaching experience, and technical skills positions me strongly for an Assistant Professor role.
Éducation
My most relevant academic training is my PhD in Optics and Photonics Physics from the University of Burgundy Franche-Comté. My doctoral research focused on modeling and controlling the emission of frequency-tuned optical nano-resonators, using advanced computational methods such as FDTD, RCWA/FMM, and plane-wave spectral analysis. This training has provided me with a strong foundation in electromagnetic theory, nanophotonics, and numerical simulation—core competencies essential for both teaching and research in modern physics.
