À propos de Godfred Annor:
Research Scientist and PhD in Microbiology with expertise in molecular microbiology, bacterial genetics, phage biology, antibacterial protein characterization, NGS-based analysis and functional screening. Skilled in fluorescence microscopy and imaging analysis, flow cytometry, assay development, high-throughput screening and bioinformatics, with a proven ability to bridge fundamental and applied research. Recipient of the IdEx Excellence Scholarship and presentation awards, and committed to advancing antimicrobial resistance research and infectious disease innovations.
Expérience
I am a microbiologist and biochemist with a PhD from Université Paris-Saclay (CNRS–I2BC), where my research focused how bacteriophage-encoded antibacterial proteins affect bacterial DNA, cell morphology, and survival. This research combined molecular cloning, bacterial genetics, protein expression, fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and high-throughput functional screening, providing strong expertise in experimental microbiology, quantitative data analysis, and rigorous laboratory practice.
In parallel, I developed solid experience in routine microbiological analyses and quality-driven laboratory workflows, including preparation of culture media and reagents, aseptic sample handling, routine microbiological testing, equipment maintenance, and accurate documentation in compliance with laboratory quality and safety standards. I have worked in structured industrial research and clinically relevant laboratory environments where precision, traceability of results, and adherence to Good Laboratory Practices were essential. I also have experience in mentoring, including training undergraduate students, supervising experimental work, and presenting scientific results in seminars and conferences. Together, these experiences place me at the interface of research microbiology, applied/clinical laboratory practice, and translational science.
Éducation
I hold a PhD in Microbiology from Université Paris-Saclay, completed at the CNRS–I2BC (Institute for Integrative Biology of the Cell), where my doctoral research focused on bacterial stress responses, genome integrity, and bacteriophage–host interactions. I also earned a Master’s degree in Infectious Diseases, providing strong training in microbiology, molecular biology, host–pathogen interactions, and experimental approaches relevant to biomedical and translational research. My academic foundation was established with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, which covered core disciplines including microbiology, biochemistry, cell biology, and laboratory diagnostics.
