Matt Wraxall

I lived and taught in Taiwan for more than a decade, originally coming over, as so many do, to teach English in the cram school industry. I soon discovered a love and aptitude for teaching that has led me take up many roles (and win many promotions) in the educational field. My most recent administrative role was as the Teaching Coordinator for Kang Chiao International Elementary School's new Linkou Campus (est. 2018). In that role I was responsible for hiring and managing a team of 25+ international English teachers for the brand new campus, as well as helping to establish the school from the ground up by designing curricula, recruiting students, choosing décor, and establishing working regulations and systems to apply them. With that challenge conquered, I am now back in the classroom full time, having realized that though I may be a very effective administrator, it is not where my passion lies. I took the unique circumstances of 2020 and the Coronavirus pandemic as an opportunity to improve as a teacher by taking online professional development courses and qualifying for a United States teaching license, out of Washington DC . I continued this professional development journey in 2021, by completing a Master's in Education with a Special Education focus. Having gained my master's I decided to take on a new challenge in a new environment, by moving to Istanbul, Turkey, to work as a Primary Classroom Teacher for Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 and 4) at the British International School of Istanbul. I will be continuing my professional growth and journey by moving to Paris to teach in 2023.

I have more than 15 years teaching experience, with almost a decade of those being in international and bilingual schools.

I have a Master in Education with a focus on special education, a Bachelors in Japanese and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, and a current teaching license from the USA.
