À propos de Sarah Fiszauf:
With a passion for health research and strong desire to contribute to a dynamic and impactful team, I aim to gain practical work and research experience. This past year, I have been studying in France to progress my French skills to a B1 level and broaden my cultural knowledge. I was born and raised in Ontario, Canada, and I wish to gain practical experience before pursuing a Master's degree. I am interested particularly interested in working the healthcare sector so I can apply my knowledge of biology and psychology to greater healthcare issues.
Expérience
Throughout my undergraduate biology degree at Queen’s University, I have taken a collection of courses, including clinical psychology, molecular biology and physiology. I believe my background in biology provides me with a well-rounded perspective whereby I can apply evolutionary, genetic, and environmental perspectives to different concepts. In my fourth year at university, I completed an honours thesis, which focused on the impacts of environmental stressors on algae communities. This experience has strengthened my skills in data collection, management, and analysis, and required a significant attention to detail. Additionally, I gained experience in independently performing literature review, and scientific writing and communication. During my time as a receptionist at the Canadian Cancer Trials Group, I developed strong interpersonal and communication skills as a liaison between internal, external, and community members. I also completed training in clinical research guidelines and protocols. I developed strong skills in Microsoft Office, organization, and problem-solving throughout this role. During my role as an Orientation Coordinator for the Socio-cultural Committee at Queen’s University, I honed my time management skills in order to organize and execute events with an emphasis on inclusion, diversity, and equity. As a former lifeguard, I have ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and ensure prioritization.
