Description
Gustave Roussy, Europe's leading Cancer Center, is recruiting a
Bioinformatician or Computational Biologist to join our Research Unit 1015 as part of Florent Ginhoux's team « Myeloid Cell Development and Functions » working on the project
"IMMUNE-

ORGANOIDS:
role of the immune system in the development of childhood and adolescent cancers".

The position is for a Post-Doctoral 12-month fixed-term contract.

Possibility of a 24-month extension.

We develop organoids from iPSC derived from children and adolescent with cancer, and measure the time-series transcriptomics, metabolomics and proteomics of tumor cells and microenvironment.

Single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq and spatial transcriptomics are conducted for the generated organoids. The work is based on our previous publications (e.g., Takata et al., Immunity, 2017; Park et al. Nature, 2023).

Basic Qualifications

  • PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, or a related field.
  • Proficient in R and advanced knowledge in commonlyused programming languages, such as Python.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge in Linux shell scripting, high performance computing, and workflow management systems such as Snakemake or Nextflow.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document methods and results clearly and concisely for tutorials and manuscripts.
  • Ability to interact well with a broad constituency including students, postdoctoral fellows, faculty, and research staff.
This job provides opportunities for research in the context of a strong intellectual environment with good work-life balance.

The Ginhoux group lies at the intersection of scientific research and large-scale computational analysis and works with many research groups.

We are thus looking for someone who has a keen ability for picking up new knowledge and enjoys working on a wide range of methods.
