The OECD is a global economic forum working with 38 member countries and more than 100 emerging and developing economies to make better policies for better lives.

Our mission is to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world.

The Organisation provides a unique forum in which governments work together to share experiences on what drives economic, social and environmental change, seeking solutions to common problems.

The Multilateral Organisation Performance Assessment Network (MOPAN) is a dynamic network of 22 members and observers who fund multilateral organisations and together share a common interest in strengthening the effectiveness of the multilateral system.

The network is supported by a Secretariat, hosted by the OECD, that carries out regularly and systematically, assessments of the effectiveness of multilateral organisations.

These assessments are used to meet accountability and due diligence requirements of governments, to inform strategic dialogue with multilateral organisations, and to generate knowledge to strengthen both the effectiveness of organizations and the overall effectiveness of the multilateral system.

How well do multilateral organisations understand, communicate and deliver on their value proposition? How well do they position themselves strategically to navigate rapidly evolving and unpredictably changing contexts, while fulfilling their core mandate? How well are they governed and managed? To what extent are they acting sustainably? How well are organizations engaging among themselves and with stakeholders, to address global issues in coordinated and meaningful fashion?
