    Job Purpose

    Provides materials engineering solutions as part of a SSE project taskforce, in accordance with TechnipFMC standards, procedures, processes, schedules, and budget, with a continuous concern for quality, targets, and customer satisfaction.

    Job Description

    Responsibilities:

  • The primary responsibilities involve Metallurgy Engineering special process expertise to Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain requirements.
  • Should be conversant with industry standards and customer requirements. Also, responsible for ensuring appropriate requirements and/or processes are in place to ensure all products meet FMC requirements
  • This is an individual contributor position, meaning this position will be responsible for executing tasks assigned by the management team and does not have any direct reports.
  • Require domestic and international travel up to 15-20% of the time. Must be willing and able to travel in short notice, if issues arise with design and/or within the supply chain.
  • Spends roughly 70% of the time working in an office environment, with the balance of time spent visiting suppliers and/or FMC regional contacts.
  • Builds strong working relationships with peers around the globe and contributes to development of discipline in discussions and decisions. Also, develops strong relationships with vendors, TFMC specialists and contributes to process and specification development.
  • Main Tasks

  • Addressing material related enquires arising from Application, Sales and Marketing, Design, Quality and Supply Chain Teams
  • Appropriate material suggestion related Oil and Gas applications – Subsea and Surface
  • Recommending Equivalent / Alternate Materials Grades to complement to end user application
  • Approving new material request
  • Creating Material Specification documents to meet end user requirements
  • Material Certificate Review and addressing Non Conformance Reports related to materials
  • Reviewing customer and vendor technical specifications - Heat Treatment / Material Testing / PMI/ Cleaning and Painting
  • eSMDR review and approval of Material Testing / Heat Treatment requirements.
  • Special Processes Lead Technical Auditor: To Conduct Technical Audit of Supplier for Forgings / Castings/ Heat treatment.
  • Involved in Specification Governance Team for Materials Specifications
  • Design Review Meetings
  • Assists with the training program that will educate and enlighten attendees about Importance of Selection of Materials
  • Addressing Supplier non-conformances through Quality Notifications
  • About the candidate

  • Min 6 years of oil and gas experience
  • Min. Master's degree in Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering from Tier 1 institute
  • Good knowledge of Materials – Forgings , Castings and Rolled products and having experience in preparing & review of Specifications and Procedures related to Materials Selection Material Testing Heat treatment PMI
  • Good knowledge of industry standards such as API NACE NORSOK
  • Materials Category :

  • Carbon & Low Alloy Steel.
  • Martensitic , PH, Austenitic and Duplex Stainless Steel
  • Cast Irons
  • Non Ferrous -Nickel Alloy & Copper Alloy
