    Offer Description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting controlled experimental evolution in vitro and in vivo using isogenic mutants in selected systems. She/he will perform in-depth molecular and phenotypic characterization of evolved bacteria, using cutting-edge technologies, including whole genome and targeted deep sequencing analyses, and state-of-the-art microbiological methods implemented in our BSL3 laboratory equipped with ad hoc robotics and imaging instruments. Using also a novel unique molecular tool, she/he will analyze ex vivo specimens obtained from tuberculosis patients. She/he will work in a dynamic and sociable environment in the host team, in partnership with the other collaborating teams of the project (TB National Reference Center, Sorbonne université/Hôpital Pitié Salpétrière, Paris; Museum d'Histoire Naturelles, Paris; Hospices Civils, Lyon), all internationally recognized for their expertise in the field.

    Specific Requirements

    We are seeking a highly motivated, rigorous and thoughtful PhD or post-doc, with a strong background in microbiology and molecular biology, ideally including experience in whole genome sequencing analysis. We appreciate experience in mycobacteriology and skills to work with murine models. Work in high-containment facilities level 3 (BSL-3) is mandatory. A good level of written and spoken English is also required.
