POSITION OVERVIEW


The Senior Communications and Outreach Coordinator aligns the activities and content strategy of the outreach and advancement function with the overall communications strategy, ensuring consistent messaging for internal and external constituencies, anticipating new opportunities and the development of communication methods and channels as they arise.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Plan, coordinate, develop and execute all communications activities of the outreach and advancement functions of the University in collaboration with the relevant team members in the Office of Communications and Outreach.


  • Produce the AUP alumni and parents newsletters in coordination with the Parent Relations Manager and the Alumni Affairs staff.
  • Create fundraising appeals, campaign updates and donor reports, leveraging the resources of Office of Communications and Outreach.
  • Regularly report on the effectiveness of campaigns, suggesting improvements to distribution methods, frequency, timing and content where needed.
Print and Digital Design

  • Colead the design, writing and production of print and digital publications, including the development of content for engagement campaigns, events, appeals, and donor reports in close collaboration with the Communications team writer and the Director of Communications and Outreach.
  • Update all material related to outreach and advancement activities when changes arise, ensuring consistent messaging and coherent use of the AUP brand across all formats and channels.
  • Advise and support other team members on design tasks when needed.
Websites and Digital Platforms

  • Create content related to the outreach and advancement activities of the University on the AUP website, social media groups, the alumni portal and any other relevant platforms.
  • Regularly review content on all platforms for accuracy and relevance, updating all platforms as needed to provide a consistent digital landscape.
  • Respond to and engage with the global AUP community via digital platforms, creating a welcoming environment for all members, acting as a community manager.
Data Management and Reporting

  • Establish data tracking and reporting methods in order to determine the effectiveness of communications campaigns such as newsletters and fundraising appeals.
Other Responsibilities

  • Support the content strategy and production of alumni, parent and donor videos.
  • Advise members of the Office of Communications and Outreach on best practices for engaging the University's various audiences via digital channels.
  • Take on additional tasks when necessary as assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in design, communications, marketing or a related field
  • Previous work experience in designing, writing and delivering digital and print communications
  • Proven experience and working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign and Photoshop
  • Understanding of the social media landscape with a focus on community management, including platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube. Prior experience is a bonus
  • Experience creating, sourcing and managing content development, writing, editing, print production, and web publishing
  • Demonstrate a passion for and knowledge of the importance of data and how it can be used effectively to inform strategy, segment audiences and target messages.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including outstanding Englishlanguage writing and editing skills
  • Demonstrated team and collaboration skills and an ability to work with multiple people on assigned projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with different audiences through a variety of platforms. Previous experience in community manangement is a bonus.
  • High initiative and ability to manage a project from start to finish
  • Ability to work solo and in a dynamic team environment.
  • Previous work experience in outreach and advancement for a university or nonprofit as well as French language skills is a plus
