We are a fast growing ClimateTech startup on a mission to make it easier for cities and businesses to measure their greenhouse gas emissions, identify opportunities to reduce their footprint, and finance needed investments.

Long story short, our Climate Justice Engine combines satellite data, ground sensors, and AI into a SaaS platform to establish cities and businesses' carbon footprint.

As a result, clients can identify reduction opportunities and access financing for their climate investments.

Everimpact has been selected by Google for its Startups' first Accelerator program on
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and recently won Shell's New Energy challenge.

It is working with several partners to deploy large scale and high impact projects starting with cities and the shipping industry.

You will work closely with our customers and partners, large corporations such as
EDF, British Telecom, Hitachi, Mitsubishi, Mitsui OSK Lines,

Wilhelmsen, etc. Everimpact's investors include international organizations such as the
European Commission, the Asian Development Bank, Impact Investors, and several shipping VCs.

About the role

Within the technical pole, take the lead of the Back End Development practice, to ensure that the company's digital services and products meet Everimpact's customers expectations.

Under the direct CTO and CPO supervision, you will navigate across several projects and product developments, collaborating with Data Scientists and Product Owners.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the building of SaaS products, algorithms and R&D projects to position the company as a tech leader in its market and ensuring the right level of SLAs;
• Continuously improve the development practice, organizing the team's backlog, tracking and reporting on the team's KPI;
• Supervise the deployment of a CI/CD pipeline with unitary and integration tests;
• Support in the strengthening of the Backend Development team, assisting in the selection and training development teams;
• Support the CPO and the CTO in building business propositions, response to call for projects and RFPs and also the definition of Everimpact product line;
• Horizon scan to stay up to date with the latest technology, techniques and methods;
• Conduct research to continuously learn about cutting edge technologies such as cloud computing, AI, IoT and cybersecurity.

Academics, Work Experience and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. A secondary expertise in cloud based architecture is a plus.

At least 5+ years of previous experience as a backend developer in a startup or small sized organization, scaling software infrastructure along the development of the business.

Strong experience deploying geoserver and cloud technologies to leverage both huge database integration (satellite imagery) and real time datastream (IoT).

Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL and GIS extensions is a plus.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Good oral and written communication skills.
Great team player and able to work efficiently with mínimal supervision.
Fluent in English. French is a plus.

You have experience in agile best practices and development workflows, and show a proven track record of leading and building successful production-ready solutions.

You're comfortable in the basics of REST API and/or MQTT design and consumption, big data environment, Spring ecosystem, complexity optimization, state/stateless concepts, domain modeling, coherency and distributed processing.

You work proficiently with the Git control system.
