As we continue to develop Marine & Offshore activities, we are looking for a dynamic and proactive Commercial Manager for our M&O France operation.

The position is located either in Marseille (13) or Saint-Herblain (44) office, in France.


Role & main responsibilities


The commercial manager for Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore is leading the business relationship with key French clients (ship owners and managers).

The role reports directly to the Marine Chief Executive for M&O France.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Devise and deploy strategic business developments and commercial strategy
  • Prepare new or updated commercial offers, followup on existing commercial contracts
  • Contribute to achieving the financial objectives & KPIs

You will therefore be in charge of:

  • contract management,
- ensuring overall client satisfaction by maintaining a strong relationship with our clients and building trust and confidence
- leading complex projects to guarantee proper completion.


Considering the current market challenges, you will need to acquire and/or maintain strong technical knowledge about decarbonization and sustainability in maritime transportation (recent and future regulations, new fuels and technologies...).


As a true ambassador of Bureau Veritas, you will be expected to represent the Company at events (conferences, networking, regulatory groups, forums ).

With a Master's degree from a business, engineering or university school, you have a real commercial expertise, and a minimum of 5 years' experience in a technico-commercial role in a very competitive environment.

You are familiar with the shipping industry. A good knowledge and track record of Classification Societies and Flag Rules would be appreciated.

Financial capabilities, accuracy and organization skills are necessary to handle commercial offers, pricing and follow-up on commercial contracts.

You are at ease with IT/IS tools and demonstrate good writing and interpersonal skills.

Attentive to the needs of both internal and external clients, you enjoy working in a team and can adapt to the various situations encountered.


Your proficiency in English and French allows you to communicate effectively with our network and clients, both orally and in writing.
