Job Description Summary:

The Product Life-Cycle Cost Manager will be responsible for determining, tracking, and improving cost for the Offshore Wind Product Lines to ensure profitable products and maximize profits.

This individual work closely together with primarily with Engineering, Product Managers, Supply Chain and also PMO and Service to understand the cost of our products in the target regions and across the value chain.

The person will set clear goals, leads development of action plans to optimize the cost position, leads execution of the action plan and tracking towards the target.

Cette personne travaille en étroite collaboration, principalement avec l'ingénierie, les chefs de produit, la chaîne d'approvisionnement, ainsi que le PMO pour comprendre le coût de nos produits dans les régions cibles et tout au long de la chaîne de valeur.

La personne fixera des objectifs clairs, dirigera l'élaboration de plans d'action pour optimiser la position des coûts, dirigera l'exécution du plan d'action et le suivi vers l'objectif.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for product costing and cost transparency (actual, planned, potential costs versus Target costs)
  • Interdisciplinary cooperation with Engineering, GSCM (incl. inbound logistics), PMO and Service
  • Documentation, implementation and monitoring of appropriate measures to achieve target costs together with the entire organization.
  • Value analysis/business case as a key tool: holistic analysis and prioritization of topics/projects Detailed analysis of systems, assemblies, and components Target cost calculations (for component evaluations, supplier negotiations, sensitivity analyses optimal cost design across value chain
  • Understand current cost structure and ensure that product cost accurately reflect bill of material and manufacturing costs for each product line and across the regions.
- identify cost drivers and easily simulate and compare alternatives with the functional experts, including prediction of future product costs.

  • Implement, improve and manage the crossfunctional cost management process, and ensure alignment into the functional processes and teams.
  • Work with the relevant departments to analyze and facilitate the "should costs" for new and existing products. Run reliable cost estimates of supplier parts by modeling the production process from the bottomup (alias "should cost". Determine the cost drivers associated with each process step. And support ENG and GSCM in the usage of should costs.
  • Develop, initiate, coordinate, and execute appropriate improvements aligned to the relevant company processes.
  • Engage and lead crossfunctional teams to achieve desired cost targets including but not limited to DMP, labor cost productivity and Sourcing.
  • Evaluate cost / benefit of proposed changes and make necessary tradeoffs across the value chain.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual cost update reports as directed.
  • Highlight and communicate cost risks to the business stakeholders.
  • Support product cost estimates for new units / markets
  • Provide expertise and analytical view on product costs in order to achieve full visibility of cost details and costout potentials to

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related area from an accredited college or university discipline
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in program management, engineering, supply chain or product development
  • At least 2 years' experience in cost management
  • Strong analytical and strategic mindset. Ability to navigate complexity, develop clear actions, drive impact, and quickly move from details to the holistic view and vice versa.
  • Team player with a problemsolving mind set.
  • Leadership experience with proven track record to deliver results by taking a masterplan through to action and implementation and achieve new/improved outcomes.
  • Strong, selfdirected, collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, & presentation skills (Proven inclusive leadership profile)
  • Selfaware and confident communicator able to communicate in a clear, concise manner and driving an integrative team working style to create a strong environment of trust.
  • Experience in interacting with senior management levels, customers, and other external partners.
  • Fluent in English (written & oral)
  • Ability to work with crossfunctional, crossbusiness, and crosscountry teams, leading large virtual teams in multiple time zones.
