  • At Kraton, we make a Positive Difference, and we are looking for individuals who are also looking to make a difference in their jobs, for our customers and to the world. We are looking to hire a key member of our Manuefacturing Maintance team at our Berre location.
  • In coordination with the Maintenance Manager, the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the optimal technical condition of the production assets at the site, to ensure safe, environmentally compliant, reliable operation, while maximizing on stream time and profitability in accordance with the technical rules and regulations. He/she provides mechanical expertise to the maintenance team.
    Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities, taking into account procedures, production schedule, resources, safety, environmental aspects, etc. Improves the maintenance process and provides mechanical expertise to the plant.
  • Improve the maintenance plans in SAP to improve reliability results
  • Insure that SAP is correctly used to identify, track, document all the maintenance activities
  • Maintaining KPI's, ensuring deadlines are met and keeping inventory of spare parts
  • Coordinating the use of services from specialist departments and contractors
  • Initiates vulnerabilities analysis, assesses the results, takes corrective action to correct and suggests proposals for improvement
  • Initiates cost estimates and requests the necessary funds
  • Manage minor modifications or extensions, participate in the MOC process
  • Perform functional tests and commissioning together with the team and special departments
  • Help operation and maintenance to troubleshoot and participate in the oncall duty at the site
  • Conduct simple 5why's analyses on equipment failures
  • Insure maintenance methods are adequate and understand operation practices effect on the equipment reliability
  • Identifies, collaborates, recommends, documents, and implements initiatives to improve unit performances, with the goal to capture incremental production, and to improve further the plant efficiency, and the safety and environmental performance
  • Provides technical expertise for PHAs, relief valves, incident investigations, safety system disablement, and other process safety activities in the area
  • Participate in safety inspections with HSE experts, fire brigade and authorities
  • Conduct work planning and scheduling and work execution Quality Audits
  • Act as a contact person for technical aspects related to authority approvals

Required Skills:


  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Mechanical Engineer degree
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance in a petrochemical, refining, or chemical environment is desired
  • Robust knowledge in mechanics
  • Good troubleshooting skills and techniques
  • Knowledge in SAP
  • Knowledgeable in chemical and process engineering fundamentals
  • Knowledgeable in HSE regulations and legal requirements and relevant company procedures
  • Good level in English (written and spoken)

Education, Certifications & Licenses

  • Mechanical Engineering degree
