One of the foundation stones for TotalEnergies' Power Businesses is to be able to reach more than 10% return on the Integrated Power Business.

Following this strategy and objectives, the newly created
Integrated Power Business Unit has as its main goals building and sharing power market knowledge.


In this context, we are looking for
Power Market analysts F/M with different seniority levels, different geographical scope of responsibility within Europe and US, and various specialties such as commodity analysis, demand analysis, supply analysis or long-term short-term merge.


In this role, you are responsible for providing critical insights, such as power prices, to optimize investment decisions (> 4 billion $ per year, worldwide with a focus on Europe and US).

You will play a crucial role in shaping market analysis capabilities, fostering innovation, and ensuring the Company remains at the forefront of the evolving energy landscape.


As Power Market analyst, you have following responsibilities:

  • Participate in the alignment of market analysis and modeling activities with the Company's overall objectives in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct indepth analysis of electricity markets within your scope, including supply and demand dynamics, price trends, regulatory changes and technologies.
  • Gather and organize relevant data from a variety of sources, including market reports, databases and internal systems.
  • Forecast electricity market conditions. Use and master models and algorithms.
  • Participate in conferences, events and forums and share market analysis expertise internally.

Key Responsibilities in one of the following Specialties depending on your expertise:

  • Commodity analysis: gas, carbon and coal prices as input data for the various scenarios.
  • Demand analysis: electricity demand forecasts.
  • Supply analysis: government objectives, policies, technological details and costs.
  • Longterm/shortterm merging: ensuring consistent evolution of assumptions over time. participation in budget and longterm plan assumptions.

Depending on your experience, as a Senior analyst, you may also encompass the following responsibilities:

  • Manage the consistency of country views across the global geographical scope (Europe or US).
  • Participate with the rest of the team in building our internal Reference scenario.
  • You are able to understand and present at high level in the organization the big picture "Inputs-ModelsOutputs", the different scenarios and their sensitivities.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in economics, finance, engineering, or a related field;
  • Proven experience of 3 years minimum in power market analysis or a similar analytical role within the energy sector;
  • Indepth knowledge of at least 1 power market in the world, including electricity pricing, market fundamentals, regulatory frameworks, and policy dynamics;
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis, forecasting techniques, and data modelling. Experience with statistical software (such as Python, R, or MATLAB) and Modelling softwares (such as BID3, Plexos or PSO) is a plus;
  • Knowledge of energy industry trends, renewable energy technologies, and environmental regulations is highly desirable;
  • Fluent English and French (spoken, written).
