Your role

The role of
HR Operations Country Head (M/F) for France is responsible for delivering exceptional HR services in the area of HR administration and coordination (e.g., for training, employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, leave management, and employee assistance programs), time & attendance, and payroll, and for driving streamlined processes that ensure data quality, time accuracy and compliance.

The role will be part of a regional and global HR Operations network.

With a service delivery mindset and customer-centric approach, you will lead in a multi-national collaborative environment, ensure excellent support to the organization and its people, and function as a strong partner supporting our HR Business Partnering model.


Systems & Processes

  • Establish structures and processes to become the first point of contact for employees for all HRrelated inquiries and requests and to ensure yearend closing works are prepared in accordance with local legal requirements
  • Ensure the delivery of streamlined, digitalized, and simplified HR operational processes and solutions and driving the development of HR Operations and Payroll solutions in line with the global HR Information System strategy
  • Build partnerships and solicit feedback from internal and external stakeholders to define and develop successful, scalable processes and practices
  • Review and adapt the HR service delivery structure to meet changing business needs as services are either delivered centrally by the HR Operations team or through HR Business Partners or the Talent Acquisition teams

Services & Solutions

  • Lead the entire range of HR administrative and payroll tasks and monitor and enhance service delivery standards to ensure global consistency, enhancing both manager and employee experiences
  • Manage employee records and policies, implementing adequate processes and audits, in compliance with recent local employment law updates
  • Oversee for the full spectrum of tasks regarding the monthly payroll in France across all local entities
  • Ensure accurate and timely master data inputs to the payroll system and processing of payroll in accordance with local statutory requirements and regulations
  • Establish protocols for managing international hires, partnering with Global Mobility and other Regional/Local HR stakeholders to ensure operational execution of International Assignments as well as local and crossborder international transfers within Symrise

Compliance & Consultation

  • Ensure and manage proper communication and collaboration for internal audits and with relevant authorities
Ensure compliance of HR templates, legal documents, and processes in scope of HR Operations

  • Take charge of global, regional and/or local data protection and privacy requirements and lead internal HR compliance efforts
  • In the European Union (EU), take charge of GDPR setup and lead internal HR compliance efforts
  • On collective French topics across local legal entities, coordinate unions/works council, employee relations and legal matters with respect to agreements and all preparations for respective negotiations
  • Provide consultative support for local and international line managers and HR Business Partners in the area of employee relations, employment and pay policies and processes
  • Establish an effective operational management system to track and communicate performance against internal service level agreements and external benchmarks

About you

  • University degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Finance, or another relevant discipline
  • At least 10 years of work experience within the field of Payroll and/or HR Shared Services, preferably in an international matrix environment
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience with a clear sense of accountability and results orientation
  • Direct project management experience; transformation/implementation experience preferred
  • Experience in testing of system changes and analyzing of data flows for process improvement opportunities; direct experience working with Workday is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of the importance of data integrity and reliability
