Combat System Architect - NAVIRIS

NAVIRIS is a Joint Venture between Fincantieri and Naval Group.

This partnership consolidates the two companies' commitment to building a future of excellence for the shipbuilding industry and the Navy.

The NAVIRIS team, with its headquarters in Genoa and offices in Ollioules, focuses on bilateral, European and export projects.


NAVIRIS, as prime contractor in the frame of a major program of upgrade of frigates and development of a brand-new class of vessels, both in a multinational context, is looking for a Combat System Architect for its Engineering Department in Ollioules.

The Combat System Architect is responsible for the technical coordination of the design of the Combat System of surface ships, in full cooperation with the designated partners (Combat System Integrators, CS Equipment Suppliers, shipyards responsible for CSPI).

He shall technically contribute to the allocation of industrial requirements to the partners for the development of a multi-national complex program with high customer requirements.

These requirements will mainly come from the CS Integrator and the shipyard but the CS Arch shall ensure that they are exhaustive and coherent.

With the support of a team of specialists in coordination with the Whole Warship Coordinator/Architect, he oversees the development of the main systems, ensure the reliability of the information provided to the Customer through the Contractual Deliverables.

He participates actively in the definition of Verification and Validation process at CS level, and particularly to the list and sequencing of the tests and trials for CS Equipment and CS as a whole.

The CS Arch shall manage the correct execution by the partners of transverse studies in his domain of expertise (CS Safety, CS performance assessment, EMC/EMI).

He shall contribute to the process of waivers analysis, assessment and upscaling, bringing his experience at CS Level.

He shall report regularly the progress and difficulties related to CS development, testing and qualification/Acceptance to the Naviris WW Architect and to the Design WP Manager.

The CS Architect is the main interface between Naviris and the Customer for discussions related to CS, in full coherence with the outcomes of the CSI and CS OEMs.

Profile:


  • Engineering graduate (Master level) with proven successful experience as a CS Architect or wideband CS specialist in the field of an effectively complex Combat System development.
A qualification or specialization in a cross-functional technical field such as complex systems engineering is a plus.

  • A good knowledge of combat ships and their Combat System details, their functional and physical trees, and of the most critical functional chains of the combat system is a mandatory.
  • Professional English (speaking, writing and reading) is essential. Excellent Italian (speeching, speaking, writing and reading) is a plus.
  • You are organized, you have proven leadership, listening and understanding skills to aggregate the CS design activities by Naviris staff, Fincantieri and Naval Group representatives and multiple international partners, for a given project. Team building is important for you.
  • You can contribute to the development of the Combat System of new Surface vessels using a Model-Based System Engineering approach
Occasional travels in Italy and Europe in the context of the position's activities are envisaged
