Job description:


Responsible for specifying the requirements that the product/process must meet based on functional analysis, validation and resolution of problems related to the scope of assignment (here the electrical part).


Overall job definition:


Electrical System engineer is responsible for:

  • Discuss with the customer to define technical requirements to meet customers performance.
  • Ensure internal communication of updates to customer requirements to product/process engineering teams.
  • Ensure consistency of electrical responses to customer requirements, completion of integration and validation plan.
  • Manage and report on the progress of the convergence of the customer's requirements, with the support of the system engineers: consideration, implementation, demonstration, finalization, etc.
  • Manage project phases in its technical areas,
  • Project and management reporting,
  • Define the needs necessary for electrical / mechanical prototyping phases.
  • Give Support on design issues for a permanent solution.

External relations:

Product team, System Eng, Customer, Process team, Production plan


Location:

Based in Bruges. Possibility of business trips to Nersac, Giga and customers/suppliers.


Main missions / KPI:


  • Electrical Customers Requirement management:
  • Define technical requirements (both for product and process) and provide design guidance (based on functional analysis, convergence of the Compliance Matrix) to meet the customer's requirements.
  • Support the system engineer(s) to ensure that these requirements are gathered in the technical specification and taken into account by the project's product engineering design team.
  • Manage and report on the convergence of attributes throughout the project phases, by discussing convergence and derogation needs with the client, by challenging the design to tend towards the functional requirements, by leading the validation effort (simulation, tests, expertise) and problem solving
  • Able to understand the electrical environment inside the pack and the international standard to define a complete insulation analysis (insulation distance, type test procedure, production test procedure)
  • Able to write electrical specifications for components in the module to fulfil customer requirements.
  • Able to draw all Electrical schematics.
  • Codesign with mechanical engineer for the all the project
  • Project interface for all samples,
  • Design and development of mockups and prototypes.
  • Be able to propose innovative solutions.
  • Deliver Design technical justification for assembly.
  • Strong electrical knowledge,
  • Mastering regulations, specifications and standards applicable for battery systems to implement a robust solution (safety intervention)
  • Good knowledge of electrical connection components and associated manufacturing processes (connection, wiring, welding, crimping...)
  • Good knowledge about power connections (electronic card and routing constraints, busbar, power bar,...)
  • Electrical internal Requirement management
  • Assembly manufacturing follow up for all samples
  • Support technical followup and convergence with suppliers of electrical components (Assembled Busbar, Power fuse )
  • Carrying out dimensional measurements of parts, subassemblies, or assemblies.
  • Performs tests of electrical assemblies, measurements, and analyses.
  • Write reports, procedures, specifications based on test results.
  • Mastering of manufacturing methods in industry
  • Identifies and addresses nonconformances.
  • Relevance in test settings & results (dimensions, test results ) analysis
  • Relevance in writing a technical document and meeting minutes.
  • Design maturity level regularly updated for each milestone (Product Dashboard).
