We are recruiting an
Engine Expert H/F to join the team in Surgères.

This entity is dedicated to the complete services of the equipment which can go up to the reconditioning of the emergency engines for certain nuclear power plants in the world and that of the engine of the Leclerc tank for the French army.

Reporting to the Technical Service Manager within our Special Application entity, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Position itself as a Technical Support to the Special Applications (SA) departments for nuclear activity:
  • Receive the technical problems concerning diesel engines from internal SA customers.
Analyse and identify the causes of the problem with all the parties concerned:
internal customers or external suppliers,

  • Definition of technical specifications for the supply of new parts containing the product definition requirements, for the suppliers and provide technical support on issues of noncompliant parts or deviation requests.
  • Definition of acceptance criteria to obtain a compliant engine product (specification of test bench with acceptance criteria, requalification criteria for acceptance of requalified components) and provide technical support during engine refurbishment process to identify parts to be replaced
  • Drafting of ASI Service Bulletins (official technical document for communication with the customer),
  • Drafting of expertise reports in the context of a component validation or obsolescence case (interface with Supply Management/resume of QPTM) or following a damage or a specific customer request (interface with Contract Management/Sales Management),
  • Verification of Methods, Field Services and Quality documentation
  • Ensure daily reporting (KPI),
  • Ensure back up, support of other Technical Service teams (military and nuclear business)


The missions are carried out while respecting the applicable rules as regards Quality, Safety and Environment, in accordance with the commitment of Wärtsilä.

Travel is to be expected in the amount of 6 per year (technical audits, technical validation of suppliers)

  • What we expect from you:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an industrial design office
  • Diesel engine technical expertise, nuclear business expertise
  • Master's degree (preferably from ENSPM, ESTACA, ENSAM, IFP) or bachelor's degree + 2 years of additional experience
  • An advanced level of written and spoken English Ability to convince your interlocutors.
  • Rigor, Organization, Autonomy
  • Team spirit and interpersonal skills, you have a sense of service.
  • Ability to optimise existing solutions.

pour rejoindre l'équipe de Surgères.

Cette entité est dédiée aux services complets des équipements pouvant aller jusqu'au reconditionnement des moteurs de secours de certaines centrales nucléaires dans le monde et celui du moteur du char Leclerc pour l'armée française.

Rattaché(e) au Technical Service Manager au sein de notre entité Special Application, votre travail se concentrera sur ces responsabilités:

  • Se positionner en tant que Support Technique auprès des départements Applications Spéciales (AS) pour l'activité nucléaire:
  • Recevoir les problèmes techniques concernant les moteurs diesel des clients internes SA.
Analyser et identifier les causes du problème avec toutes les parties concernées :
clients internes ou fournisseurs externes,

  • Définition des spécifications techniques pour la fourniture de nouvelles pièces contenant les exigences de la définition du produit, pour les fournisseurs et fournir un soutien technique sur les questions de pièces non conformes ou les demandes de déviation.
  • Définition des critères d'acceptation pour obtenir un produit moteur conforme (spécification du banc d'essai avec critères d'acceptation, critères de requalification pour l'acceptation des composants requalifiés) et fourniture d'un soutien technique pendant le processus de remise à neuf du moteur pour identifier les pièces à remplacer.
  • Rédaction de bulletins de service ASI (document technique officiel pour la communication avec le client),
  • Rédaction de rapports d'expertise dans le cadre d'un cas de validation ou d'obsolescence d'un composant (interface avec la gestion des approvisionnements/reprise du QPTM) ou suite à une avarie ou une demande spécifique d'
