Your mission

The Technology Development Discipline Manager role is to:

  • Be accountable to plan, organize and manage the execution of the work defined by the Strategic Technology Development Managers by providing the right support (human resources, expertise) to meet objectives described in work packages and cost, time, resources (CTR) sheets;
  • Interface with Sales & Marketing, Engineering, Supply Chain Management and any other internal stakeholder to ensure the optimum allocation of resources and competences to the Technology Development projects;
  • Be responsible for continuously developing engineer skills and career within the Technology Development Department of the Global Projects Centre & Asia Pacific (GPC & AP), Subsea7's centre of excellence for the execution of its largest projects worldwide;
  • Contribute to the Technical Department recruitment plan to meet Technology Development Program and ensure that engineers permanently allocated to Technology Development are appraised yearly (individual promotion and salary adjustment) and receive adequate training;
  • Operate according to Subsea7 Management Principles and within the Subsea7 code of conduct;
  • Identify and protect Company's existing and potential intellectual property;
  • Prepare dossiers for support funding of Technology Development Projects by other bodies (Credit Impôt Recherche).

Your profile

Preferred Experience and Education

  • Relevant previous experience as a leader of multicultural engineering teams across multiple projects;
  • Relevant previous experience of managing engineering input to projects or work packages, managing interfaces within a project structure, including other disciplines, drawing office, document control, project management, client and suppliers;
  • Demonstrable ability to work within time/budget/resource constraints.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge on product development (TRL system) and basis of intellectual property (IP) and contracts;
  • Wide technical knowledge about the offshore energy market;
  • Technical knowledge on field life cycle, subsea field architecture, basis of flow assurance;
  • Sound communication skills (oral, written and electronic) incl. fluent English;
  • Leadership skills to find, develop and coach senior personnel, in order to improve their efficiencies;
  • Ability to prioritise own and others' workload, manage time and change control accordingly and direct team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of program or budget
