    An exciting opportunity has emerged for a "New Product Development Manager - Elastomers, EMEA" with our client, the world's leading supplier of mineral-based specialty solutions for industry.     THE ROLE:

    • Title: New Product Development Manager (NPD Manager)
    • Reporting to: Science & Technology (S&T) Plastics and Rubber Director
    • Main Internal Stakeholders: Marketing, Technical Service, Sales/KAM, Business Development
    • Location: ITC - Toulouse

    As the New Product Development (NPD) Manager for Elastomers, you will develop mineral-based new products and solutions to drive the company's organic growth in rubber applications. You will be key in fostering organic growth through customer-centric innovation, leveraging your connections within the elastomers ecosystem, and collaborating with internal partners, including marketing, sales, technical service, and science & technology (S&T).

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead S&T projects and develop necessary technologies, materials understanding, and products related to assigned projects.
    • Ensure resources are effectively utilized to deliver new product solutions within expected performance, time, and cost parameters.
    • Coordinate closely with stakeholders across projects, challenging inputs as needed to ensure efficient NPD processes.
    • Collaborate with peers to allocate polymer S&T lab resources according to deadlines and team priorities.
    • Seek support from the S&T Process team when existing technologies pose challenges to new product design.
    • Stay updated on technology, product, and market trends through continuous acquisition of external data.
    • Conduct lab studies to support the Technical Assistance Request (TAR) process in a timely manner.
    • Proactively engage with external partners, including APAC and AM regions, and academic and private labs.
    • Drive the acquisition, commissioning, and maintenance of lab equipment within your area of responsibility.

    Key Deliverables:

    • Drive ideation and NPD pipeline development.
    • Establish product specification datasheets and contribute to product launch kits.
    • Report progress to management and peers on time.
    • Produce scientific/technical articles to enhance the company's visibility.
    • Contribute to S&T budget preparation and disseminate findings across the polymer community.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Key Scientific & Technical Competencies:

    • Expertise in elastomers and polymer material R&D.
    • Familiarity with NPD project management and value-in-use/price positioning.
    • Knowledge of mineral additives for polymers and surface functionalization.
    • Skills in Design of Experiment (DOE), Principal Analysis Component (ACP), and root cause analysis.

    Soft Skills:

    • Visionary and innovative mindset.
    • Ability to provide clear instructions and inspire and motivate team members.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a transversal environment.
    • Persuasive communication skills and ability to deliver results in challenging environments.

    Education:

    • MSc or PhD in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering.
    • A degree within the area of Elastomers is preferred.
    • Experience in mineral additives for polymers is a plus.

    Other Requirements:

    • Experience in an international environment is advantageous.
    • Fluent English is required; proficiency in a second EU language (e.g., German, Italian, French) is appreciated.
    • Mobility for regular short business trips in Europe (~20%) and occasional trips outside the EU.
