In an evolving in-vitro diagnostic market led by innovation and continuous new opportunities potentially impacting bioMérieux product offering, the Sourcing Manager is a key contributor to the new product development process.


What will be your missions at bioMérieux?
Reporting to the Associate Director Product Development & Projects Sourcing EMEA, within the Corporate Purchasing team, and with the support of the Purchasing team, your main missions will be:

  • Pro-Actively represent the Purchasing function within development projects related to new bioMérieux products or improvements of existing products (Instruments, Software, reagents, consumables) from the pre-feasibility phase to market launch. Contribute to project objectives in consistency with the Corporate Purchasing objectives and the company priorities.
  • Coordinate Purchasing actions in complex and multidisciplinary projects, coordinate when necessary activity of project buyer(s) to guarantee global Purchasing approach, represent Purchasing in Project governance instances, accountable for Purchasing project reporting.
  • Apprehend marketing and business strategy in order to find out the best sourcing & purchasing options in the frame of new product development projects.
  • Define the sourcing strategy for each major phase of the project, assess and reduce purchasing risks, identify and capture opportunities, thus develop the sourcing strategy throughout the project in coordination with commodity buyers
  • Analyze, compare and challenge the technical solutions proposed by R&D to propose alternative solutions in order to improve the margin and to lower purchasing & suppliers risks (project and commodities). lead and formalize the approaches relating to value analysis, designtocost, TCO analysis and life cycle management of components/raw materials.
  • Promote upstream sourcing to capture innovation at supplier level for project needs
  • Select suppliers according to the Project Purchase process, carry out Make or/and Buy analyses, identify and implement actions to mitigate supplier risks. Aggressively support the performance/quality/cost/service/CSR objectives for the project while respecting the Purchasing strategies including Corporate Purchasing and Commodity Purchasing.
  • Negotiate detailed conditions & contract, manage relationships with the selected suppliers & partners, then carry out the transfer to commodity buyers at the market launch phase.
  • Promote and contribute to the Corporate Social Responsibility approach within product development projects: Eco design, sustainable sourcing, local/green sourcing, CO2 impact, green software.
  • Collaborate with all departments that can contribute to the development of new products: Purchasing, R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal.
  • Contribute to improve Project Purchasing process or to develop Purchasing tool and project reporting when necessary
