Based in Grenoble, the ILL is an international centre for fundamental research founded by France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

It is Europe's leading facility for neutron science and operates the brightest neutron source in the world.


Are you keen to work in a constantly evolving technical environment? Do you enjoy working on a variety of tasks? Then come and join our IT Service's 8-person "Infrastructure" team to assist with the maintenance and operation of our telecommunications networks and equipment.


Your tasks
As a member of the team, you will take an active role in the following:

  • Directing and carrying out low and high-voltage cabling work
  • Installing and configuring equipment, in particular telephone and network equipment
  • Configuring and maintaining the mobile phone fleet, telephony software solutions and physical access management solutions
  • Monitoring maintenance of the telephony solution on the EPN campus
  • Monitoring and supervising the work of outside service providers in all these areas.

Your profile

  • You have a Level 2 vocational qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent), as well as at least 20 years' experience in telephony and lowvoltage networks (or equivalent).
  • You have the necessary qualifications to work on lowvoltage electrical installations (habilitation électrique BC/BR), certification for working at height and an aerial platform/cherry picker operator licence (CACES Group A and B or equivalent).
  • You have a good knowledge of Alcatel, DECT and VoIP telephone systems, intercom systems and access control systems.
  • Experience in mobile fleet management (GSM and satellite) would be appreciated.
  • You must be proficient in lowvoltage cabling work and be able to supervise such work.
  • You are proactive, can work independently and have a serviceoriented attitude.
  • You can communicate orally in English in your area of expertise.
  • Experience of working at an international research organisation would be appreciated.
