Role Overview

We are looking for:

The Research Scientist is responsible for leading Research & Innovation projects and supporting plant manufacturing requests, providing support to product development for Solvay Specialty Polymers in high growth markets.

We count on you for:

Demonstrating strong technical depth in material science (physicochemistry) to ensure the product development activities are technically rigorous and additionally in the area of radical polymerization of vinyl monomers. Experience in modeling or organic chemistry activities is a plus.
Assisting in the review and monitoring of patent/scientific literature relevant to our products/technology. Bringing innovative ideas and points of view to enlarge tuning of our portfolio products.
Leading in the scaleup of recipes from research to commercial scale working in close collaboration with Process Technology, HSE and Manufacturing Functions.
Providing technical support to improve the current products and technologies in close collaboration with Process Technology and Manufacturing Functions.
Demonstrating Project Management skills.
Working with Sales/Marketing/Customer Technical Development, Customers, and Suppliers to support the development of new products.
Providing technical support to ongoing plant operations and help for problem solving.

Qualifications

D. in Material Science preferably in Polymer Chemistry or related fields. Additional background in Modeling activity or organic chemistry is a plus.

03 years experience
Fluent English. Fluent French is a plus.

Technical skills

Technical depth in the fields of material sciences (physics and chemistry), in polymer chemistry, modeling or organic chemistry.
Passion for science, creativity, open mindness.
