In order to support the growth of the Rolling Stock Saint-Ouen (RS STO) test lab activities, Alstom is looking for a
Test Laboratory Engineer.



What are my responsibilities ?


As a Test Laboratory Engineer, you will be defining the most appropriate test methodology, testing means and developing the test operating mode in accordance with Test Laboratory Quality Management System & within the costs time and pass-fail criterion set for the test.

Your colleagues and customers trust you to make sure the behaviour and performance of our solutions comply with their design.

Because we continuously search for new ways to make our products better, you need to be curious for all innovative technologies that can make mobility smarter and safer (automation, predictive tools, autonomous vehicles, data science etc).


_Your responsibilities include:
_


  • Performing the testing in complete independence and guarantying the exactitude of the test results
  • Executing the test bench maintenance program, maintaining and continuously improving Alstom's labs and testing environment.
  • Participating in the design and the development of the tools necessary for performing the tests
  • Implementing, verifying (functional), and ensuring compliance (calibration) of the measuring equipment to be ready at the time of the test.
  • Preparing the equipment for testing. Validating that the applied configuration and pre requisite testing allows the testing to proceed.
  • Supervising and/or executing test activities, analysing test results "live" and deciding if test has to be redone or not
  • Processing the test results data, writing static and dynamic test reports

What do I need to qualify for this job?
This role requires to be structured and organized as well as strong communication skills. You will exemplify a collaborative approach to problem solving and demonstrate the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.


_Minimum qualifications _

  • Engineering degree or equivalent training.
  • A solid background in testing physical activities, combined with experience in Train system knowledge (system analysis, railways)
  • Tests organization capability, knowledge of planning tools
  • Ability to write test procedures, specifications and reports
  • Use of 3D software such as DMA/CATIA/E3S/IGE XAO
  • Ability to define, create and maintain, test benches

_Preferred qualifications _

  • Railway engineering or Systems engineering
  • On field tests execution
  • Knowledge implementation audits (quality, AZDP)
  • Skills in electrical and electronic wiring / PLC programming / Mechanical skills
