You will join a team working on industrialization of a breakthrough decarbonization process of the steel industry.

You will work closely with all ArcelorMittal R&D labs and with our enginneering partner in the industrialization of the project.


You will have the opportunity to start up the first industrial demonstrative plant in the first years of your mission.


Your role:


  • You will be integrated within the team in charge of the industrialization of a new technology consisting in the electroextraction of iron in alcalin medium / low temperature. Assisted by a small team, you will manage a specific pilot line for the development of the technology and the preparation of its industrialization.
  • You will be first in charge of the implementation as well as the commissioning of the pilot facility allowing the validation of R&D solutions for sizing the industrialization at large scale within the global project and the respect of its milestones.
  • You will be responsible of the specifications for the evolutions or modifications of the pilot line as well as the followup of engineering works in coordination with related operational and process teams to be on time with milestones and ensure a maximal availability of the pilot for the production of tests. You will be responsible that the pilot reaches operation indicators required for industrial operations (productivity, reliability, costs,...).
  • At the position, you will coordinate the tests scheduling and the protocoles definition, take part to maintenance operations, troubleshootings and improvements with related operational and process teams.
  • You will be part of the engineering team for the specifications definition of the future industrial plant and drive design and engineering orientations as the upcoming operating engineer. You will participate in establishing the investment file for the future industrial plant.
  • Finally, you will fully take part the experience by the installation, commissioning, training and coaching of future operators, and technical support of the future industrial line (potentially abroad).
  • You will be able to make clear synthesis of results to expose them and support stakeholders and decisions makers.

Your profile:


  • Master degree in mechanical or electromechanical engineering or in a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial process operation and/or support
  • Experience in electrochemical industrial processes (electrogalvanizing, electrotinning, copper or zinc electrowinning or electrorefining )
  • Experience in maintenance
  • Experience in coordinating internal and external stakeholders and subcontractors
  • Advanced levels of English and French
  • Entrepreneurship, Pragmatism, Leadership and driving force of proposals
