Position Overview

As a Senior Backend Engineer (PHP/Kotlin), your primary responsibility will be to expand and enhance our existing codebase, while also driving innovation for new features.

You will have complete ownership of your work, ensuring that every aspect is executed to a high standard.

This includes ensuring code functionality, implementing comprehensive test automation, optimizing scalability within our cloud infrastructure, and establishing proper monitoring practices.

Your role will involve working with the latest cloud native services and solutions, actively contributing to the ongoing evolution of our platform.

You will strive to maximize its value for our customers by working on one of the core functionalities of our platform, using different technologies to achieve our goals.

About the team

Team Appy & Experiences builds buyer engagement capabilities and an innovative app platform for extending the capabilities of Showpad beyond our own product offering.

The codebase is written in PHP and Kotlin, and we are currently in the process of transitioning to the AWS cloud serverless environment, using Typescript.

Our updated technology stack heavily relies on AWS services such as API Gateway, Aurora, CDK, Lambda, S3, Dynamo, Step Functions, and more.

We make use of the appropriate service for each specific task to ensure optimal functionality.

Required Skills for this Senior Backend Engineer position

• 5+ years of experience as backend engineer developing scalable, productionready using PHP (Symfony) or JVMbased languages (Kotlin)
• Handson knowledge of AWS
• Experience with Docker or Kubernetes
• Experience with or willing to work in Typescript
• Testdriven development mindset
• Experience with CI/CD

• Experience working in a tenant database environment
• Experience with event driven architecture design and implementation
