Title:
Internship in Error Correction for Data Storage using Synthetic DNA


Location:

Expected starting date/duration:
March or April 2023 / 5 to 6 months


Responsibilities:
As an intern, you will be involved in a comprehensive exploration of coding strategies for errors in DNA storage


Key responsibilities include:
- _

Literature Review:

_ Conduct an in-depth review of existing literature on coding for errors in DNA storage to build a strong foundation for the project.

- _

Comparative Study:

_ Perform a comparative study on existing coding approaches through simulations on Matlab or Python, utilizing both real and synthetic data to assess their effectiveness.

- _Optimization:_ Work towards optimizing existing coding approaches for DNA storage, aiming to enhance their efficiency and error correction capabilities.
- _Investigation of

New Approaches:

_ Explore and investigate novel coding approaches and methods for DNA storage, pushing the boundaries of current research in the field.

Profil:


  • Currently enrolled in a Master's (M2) program or in the final year of a 5year Engineering degree in electrical engineering, communications engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with at least one of the following: error correction codes, information theory, or digital communications.
  • Excellent programming skills in Matlab or Python.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
