As a Barclays Market Surveillance Analyst, you will focus on the Surveillance programme for Europe and the associated legal and regulatory requirements, firm policies and industry best practices.
In this position, you will work closely with the various teams across Barclays that cover Surveillance activities on a global level.

- Identifying and escalating potential breaches of regulatory rules such as the Market Abuse Regulation (MAR), firm policies and the misuse of Material Non-Public Information (MNPI)
- Performing controls on electronic & audio communications and trade surveillance activities
- Assisting in responding to audits, regulatory inquiries, examinations and investigations whilst liaising with regulators, as required
- Keeping up to date with changes to regional rules and regulations and material regulatory developments that directly impact surveillance obligations
- Escalating perceived impacts identified for consideration
- Providing support for other Compliance functions in related projects and tasks for the Compliance department as directed
- Assisting in performing business and thematic investigations that proactively detect potentially suspicious business activity, and business/employee conduct risk
What we're looking for:
- Keen interest in financial services and conduct requirements
- Sound understanding of regulation pertaining to market abuse
- Ability to multitask and manage projects while completing daily tasks and responsibilities
- Ability to exercise sound judgment with an understanding of effective escalation of risk
Skills that will help you in the role:
- University or relevant experience (e.g., Surveillance or Compliance experience in an Investment Bank)
- Working knowledge of using mainstream Surveillance systems and excellent Excel skills
