Job Purpose:

Reporting to the GSL CTD Technical & Quality Director, the GSL CTD Quality Manager will be responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day management of Quality procedures, processes, and digital tools in use in the Technical Governance function for all Service Lines.

The GSL CTD Quality Manager is responsible for delivery in the following key areas:

  • Maintenance and upkeep of the Proficiency Testing Portal Data Management System (PTPDMS) and the Location Network Portal (LNP) involving the up-to-date confirmation of capabilities, assets, accreditation, method validation, proficiency testing participation and performance as well as organisation and key expertise.
  • Coordinated delivery of internal round robin exercises in key service lines from material production to report issue.
  • The global coordinated delivery and collation of scored location audits and findings.
  • The upkeep and maintenance of a dedicated SharePoint site which holds Technical Governance Policies and is a business resource for key Technical & Quality information to support the Operating Groups.
  • The ongoing delivery of a communication strategy to inform the business about changes and developments in Quality & Technical matters affecting the CTD division.
  • Supporting delivery of Technical Governance led forums across the CTD business.
  • Contributing to a Technical Governance Monthly Report to demonstrate fulfilment of function KPIs and key areas of focus.
  • Collation and finalisation of Group KPIs to be reviewed, communicated and appropriate action taken.

Principal Accountabilities:


Leadership & people:

  • Lead a Quality Team to push a proactive Quality Framework across the BV network
  • Provide leadership for Regional & local Quality & Technical colleagues and leverage synergies to the advantage of the business
  • Establish a global network to instigate positive change

PTPDMS/LNP:

  • Push the update of capability information in the LNP module at least annually for all locations in the CTD business
  • Ensure all internal exercises are logged in PTPDMS with corrective actions generated, logged, and closed out in the system
  • Ensure all external reports are received from the business and loaded in to PTPDMS with corrective actions generated, logged, and closed out in the system
  • Oversee the ongoing development and optimisation of the solutions in conjunction with IT
Internal Round Robin Exercises

  • Work alongside the team to ensure the proficiency testing needs of the business are covered by an optimised balance of internal and external exercises
  • Instigate production of new materials according to an agreed process in the preparation hub
  • Oversee distribution of materials for round robin and QC standardisation purposes
  • Ensure on time delivery of samples, results, and report in a cycle dependant on exercise frequency

Scored Auditing:

  • Deploy an agreed auditing plan across the business to benchmark our operations and provide a roadmap for continuous improvement
  • Collate all reports and actions and push completion to agreed timescales
  • Collate scores and findings and distil trends to make recommendations on strategic approach to improvement
  • Perform the auditing process on site in BV locations as required

SharePoint:

  • Oversee the upkeep and maintenance of all Technical Governance policies, procedures and documents using an agreed document control process
  • Establish a central information resource to engage and inform the business and to promote positive change and standardisation of approach
  • Align with other CTD GSL and I&F TG SharePoint resources in terms of style and communication approach

Technical Networks:

  • Support the delivery of fixed agenda forums covering the Testing and Inspection delivery in all Service Lines
  • Present key information as agreed with the Technical & Quality Director

Reporting:

  • Provide regular and key contributions to a Technical Governance monthly report
  • Collate Group KPIs and distil information to identify trends and calls for action
